SB8200

Got a new modem. I can not get docsis3.1. isp did lots of checks and said I'm not receiving all the channels. Tried reset many times, tried factory reset. Contacting Arris is IMPOSSIABLE since they can't validate my serial number on my NEW modem. Should I take it back and try another brand? If yes, who makes a good cable modem...thanks.

I purchased the modem from Best Buy because my modem was acting strangely. I did not get a chance to install the modem until after the bus by return policy expired. Best Buy recommended me reaching out to you about getting a refund because they were unable to refund or replace the modem. Please contact me at (Edited personal information). If you need to discuss this or please reply to this request and I will follow the steps that you provide. Best Buy told me that you would reimburse or replace the modem due to their return policy. The modem is an SB 8200 and was purchased on January 4, 2025 or $169 plus tax from Best Buy and wyomissing PA store number 580

My Arris Sb8200 cable modem doesn’t provide internet to my WiFi modem even after setting it up and activating my router with spectrum. i have bought brand new Ethernet cords and they work fine but for some reason when I connect my sb8200 to my wifi router, the internet globe light turns red on the wifi router when I connect it to my cable modem but when I connect my pc to the cable modem, I can get on the internet with my pc. To top it all off, my sb8200 keeps refusing to connect to the admin page for the cable modem!   please help!

I’m trying to reset an Arris SB8200 modem to factory default.  I pressed the reset button for 12 seconds and then tried to login with admin/password and admin/last 8 digits of serial number.  Neither method worked.  I reset again, but still no luck to login to the Arris admin page. Any Suggestons?

I recently purchased the Arris SB8200. All the lights are green. Everything is working. I have Xfinity and shows it is  connected. But I am still unable to access the internet. Here is my question. I have an old Cisco linksys e2500 router. Is this compatible? All the lights are green and working on the router. Feeling frustrated as my thernet shows not connected even thou it is. I restarted both modem and router. All cables are plugged in and working. Lights are on but sadly no blue light the Arris SB8200. 

I have been banging my brain out trying to get my Linksys MR20EC router to access the SB8200 modem's webinterface. Every thing I have tried based on available information on the web did not work. And I mean everything.This method does not require you to touch your primary router, you know, the one that will not allow you to view your modem's webinterface. All this was tested with two older router/AP boxes and it works.This is specifically for the Arris SB8200 which has two ethernet ports. If you modem only has one, sorry, I can't help you.Here is a solution that does work. You will need another router, or a wifi extender that can work in AP (access point) mode. The SB8200 has two ethernet ports,you will connect the second router/AP to the open port. Hope there are users who can help gather information so that we can get routers that work. When I say “work”, this is irt accessing the 192.168.100.1 webinterface of the SB8200 Cable Modem through the router. WorkingLinksys EA6900 Not workingLinksys MR2000 (MR20EC)  Ver. 1.1.5.210166 So please list your router/SB8200 combination and state “working” or “not working” wrt accessing the SB8200 webinterface through the router (not a direct connect to the SB8200). Thanks

My 8200 is compatible.  I had the Xfinity Comcast’s guy add it.  It is beans new.  It just resets for no reason. It’s not a compatibility issue. 

Have tried everything, but can’t get 192.168.100.1 to load in a web browser, therefore can’t access modem settings that way.  How can I change default password?  Is there a way through the Surfboard Central app?

Pretty much the title. Have had the modem for many years. Got a new router and went to set that one up. I unplugged the power from the modem and then plugged in the Ethernet for the router. After the I plugged the power cable back in, the only light on is the green power light.

Hello, nice to meet you. My SB8200 modem stopped working. I got home from work and when I looked up, I had no internet access and the modem's lights were off. I just bought it on January 30th.

New to me SB8200 which replaced my CM8200A. Last night I got into the modem with the 8 digit serial number. After getting in, it asked to reset the password. Did that and copied the password to a file in case I need it. Was working fine. This morning I tried to get in with the new password and it failed to do so. Tried the 8 digits SN and it failed. Tried the “password” and it failed. I doubt this is normal because I haven’t seem much info here on failed passwords. By the way, I am using “admin” as the log in. Thoughts from the experts here? Can you please tell me how to access the event log on a surfboard SB8200? 

I have an SB8200 and I’m not sure when it was purchased or how old it is. I know it’s not under warranty. What is the best way to get the ship or manufacture date of my specific modem?

My ISP plan is 200Mbsp. Works for what we have now. And unlimited.  Looking to upgrade from ARRIS SB6182. Will the SB 8200 work?  or is it too much for what we have? Cox cable wants me to get more data speed. Thank you for any info.

For the past few days, I haven’t had an internet connection. My provider (Xfinity) says their side is working, and my router (ASUS RT-AX58U) is indicating that this modem is the issue when I check the network diagnostic. I’ve tried power cycling, factory resetting both the modem & router (separately), and moving both to a different coax port. Unfortunately, none of that has helped. I can still see & connect to the network, but there’s no internet on any of my devices. if you have any suggestions as to anything else I might try before resorting to a technician visit from my ISP, I would greatly appreciate it. Internet has been spotty for last 2 weeks. Replaced old Netgear router w new Archer AXE75. Connected it to Surfboard 8200 v3 that was bought 3 months ago. Now there is no Internet at all. Do these 2 work w each other? Or do I need something different. Cox Communications is my service provider.

Just got this Modem on sales from Amazon and is an SB8200v3 model and just had it swapped over w/ my cable company. All is good but want to know if ALL 4 lights stay on full time compared my my older SB modem where the globe light on the bottom would flash to show connectivity. Is this normal on this new one? Everything acceses just fine.

The modem has stopped connecting to the Internet.  I have had it 6 weeks.  Goes off line all the time and has to be reset.  I can’t participate in the live chat because the site doesn’t recognize my serial number and I’m reading it from the modem and the box.  Nothing.  This is terrible customer service. 

Hi folks, I had to hard reset my SB8200 after it started to lose connection to Optimum. The status of the channels now show “Locked” and I can’t seem to connect to ISP. What do I do?

I have a SB8200 modem that has stopped working. My internet provider came by, tested the modem and confirmed it’s receiving the signal from the provider, but not then passing along the signal to my laptop (if direct wired) or my wireless router.  I checked your site and based on the serial number of my modem, it is under warranty until Sep 13, 2026. I’ve tried to find how to submit a warranty claim on your site, but any instructions I’ve found appear to keep sending me in a loop from one site to the next. Can someone please direct me to the precise site that explains how to submit a warranty claim on my modem?Thank you.

When power is restored after an outage, SB8200 modem does not power back on.  I have to power cycle it to get it to boot up.  This is a problem when traveling it remains off until I return home and power cycle it. What would cause this?

I have a new SB8200. Want to register it for warranty. But I cannot. When I go to the site, I enter the Serial number and model number and it says there is no match. When I call tech support, I get disconnected. When I go to chat, it’s not available (in their business hours). I have not yet found an email address. Can anyone here help me?Thank you.

My SB8200v3 upstream and downstream lights stay solid but the internet light keeps blinking. My old SB6183 was working just fine when I connected it however this new modem doesn't want to work.
