How do I enable WPA 2 or WPA 3 on an Arris 8200 modem 

Recently bought a new 8200. New cat6 cables. Can achieve 950 down directly connected to my PC. When I attach it to my router, it default negotiates to 100mbps full duplex. If I set it to 1000mbps full duplex it immediately loses connection to the modem. Cables are all fine, work individually. Can't find any information online of people encountering a similar issue

I worked with service provider to get the new modem registered but it isn't coming up when I search for available networks. I have Internet as it is working with the Ethernet cable. How do I get the new modem to show up in my available networks?

Order # 61170After reading through these forums, there seems to be a serious issue with your order processing. Multiple people are reporting no order confirmation received after placing an online order.  I have the same issue. My credit card has been charged. I have no order confirmation. I have no way to log in and check if the order is being processed because when I attempt to create an account it says my email is already associated with an account. The “forgot password” option does NOT send a password reset to my email address. I called technical support and they assured me I would receive an email Monday 8/25/25 by end of day. It is now 8/26/25 and I have no email confirmation. What is going on Arris?!?

My SB8200 does not work.  All lights are flashing rapidly.  I tried a different power supply, outlet, coax cable, and resetting it with no luck.  I think it’s dead.  It should still be under warranty, but I cannot find the serial number on the website.  Please help.

Hello, My Arris SB8200 modem no longer powers on (no lights, even with a known working outlet and power adapter), so I believe it has failed. I am looking to request a warranty replacement. However, when trying to verify the warranty for my modem with the online warranty tool, it says it cannot locate my serial number. The modem was purchased less than 2 years ago from Amazon. I can provide the serial number and order details upon request.

I have a new SB8200 that I connected to Spectrum. When I connect my PC to the ethernet port I have access to the internet, but I cannot connect my router to the second port. When I do it does not indicate internet access. If I remove the PC and reboot the modem then the router gets access to the internet but as soon as I plug in the PC the PC can’t get access.What am I doing wrong?

My connection randomly keeps shutting off. I use a w21 arris modem with a surfboard model sb8200. I have tried hard resetting it, unplugging both for 5-10 minutes, I have tried moving the router around the house. To no avail. It used to work great, now we can hardly stay on the internet for more than 5 minutes at a time. Is there any solution to this?

My modem is receiving internet from Xfinity but unable to connect to an Orbi router. Upon speaking with a technician at Xfinity they told me it was a manufacturer issue with the modem

Hi, I would like to ask if the SB8200A modem is in any way compatible with the SB8200B modem. The 8200A is supposed to use 6 MHz channels, while the 8200B should use 8 MHz channels. Is it enough to just flash the firmware, or is it a different hardware altogether, meaning you can’t turn an 8200A modem into an 8200B? Thank you for your answer.

Lost power this weekend (it was connected to an APC UPS) and after reboot the SB8200 steady blinks (all 4 LEDs and the Ethernet ports).  There doesn't seem to be any decernabIe pattern.  I also can't get DHCP directly connected to a computer or communicate with a static IP.  Did the 10 sec hold several times on the reset button to do a factory reset.  Behavior continues and is persistent regardless of what's attached to the modem.  Device is still under warranty per this site.

If its not, which model is? Please

SB8200 I did a factory reset because i couldn’t find my notes on the password i had created and the passwords online were not working. I disconnected the coax before the factory reset.  Tried logging in….browser says it can’t reach it even though i am connected to it via CAT 7. I am getting this error:   PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR I have tried both Edge and Firefox.I connected the coax and get online but still cannot get to the login page of the modem.  I want to confirm the mHz that it is operating at to make sure it is in the acceptable range for Comcast.

I suspect my SB8200 purchased in 2024 is starting to fail, but I cannot contact customer support due to the website saying my serial number cannot be found. I have tried entering it multiple times in different formats with no luck.

Model: SB8200All of a sudden stopped working. Checked lights, all of them were lit. Unplugged for 10 seconds. Now it shows power button solid green, transmit light blinking, receiving light and internet globe no lights just blank. Tried holding the tiny white reset button in the back until all lights in the front flashed.tried without any wifi extenders plugged into ethernet, still no luck. I’ve had this modem for quite a while at least 3-4 years.

How do I find the correct network name and password 

I had an older model SB 8200 , and it worked perfectly for a year, then started to constantly reboot at random. I purchased a brand new SB 8200 v3 , installed it, it works great, except that it randomly reboots too! It just resets, which drops the internet, and then boots back up and the internet comes again. This is problematic for someone working from home who loses link at random, even though it reboots pretty quickly. Why does my SB 8200 just re-set for no reason. It is brand new! 

Got a new modem. I can not get docsis3.1. isp did lots of checks and said I'm not receiving all the channels. Tried reset many times, tried factory reset. Contacting Arris is IMPOSSIABLE since they can't validate my serial number on my NEW modem. Should I take it back and try another brand? If yes, who makes a good cable modem...thanks.

I purchased the modem from Best Buy because my modem was acting strangely. I did not get a chance to install the modem until after the bus by return policy expired. Best Buy recommended me reaching out to you about getting a refund because they were unable to refund or replace the modem. Best Buy told me that you would reimburse or replace the modem due to their return policy. My Arris Sb8200 cable modem doesn’t provide internet to my WiFi modem even after setting it up and activating my router with spectrum. i have bought brand new Ethernet cords and they work fine but for some reason when I connect my sb8200 to my wifi router, the internet globe light turns red on the wifi router when I connect it to my cable modem but when I connect my pc to the cable modem, I can get on the internet with my pc. To top it all off, my sb8200 keeps refusing to connect to the admin page for the cable modem!   please help!

I’m trying to reset an Arris SB8200 modem to factory default.  I pressed the reset button for 12 seconds and then tried to login with admin/password and admin/last 8 digits of serial number.  Neither method worked.  I reset again, but still no luck to login to the Arris admin page. Any Suggestons?

I recently purchased the Arris SB8200. All the lights are green. Everything is working. I have Xfinity and shows it is  connected. But I am still unable to access the internet. Here is my question. I have an old Cisco linksys e2500 router. Is this compatible? All the lights are green and working on the router. Feeling frustrated as my thernet shows not connected even thou it is. I restarted both modem and router. All cables are plugged in and working. Lights are on but sadly no blue light the Arris SB8200. 

I have been banging my brain out trying to get my Linksys MR20EC router to access the SB8200 modem's webinterface. Every thing I have tried based on available information on the web did not work. And I mean everything.This method does not require you to touch your primary router, you know, the one that will not allow you to view your modem's webinterface. All this was tested with two older router/AP boxes and it works.This is specifically for the Arris SB8200 which has two ethernet ports. If you modem only has one, sorry, I can't help you.Here is a solution that does work. You will need another router, or a wifi extender that can work in AP (access point) mode.
