SB8200

I recently purchased a replacement Arris 2B8200 Modem to replace my old Arris 2B8200 Modem, because I have intermittent Internet outages and my ISP is CONVINCED it's my modem or router. Old Arris 2B8200 ModemGreen power light Blue in/out boundGreen globe/Internet iconSuccessful Internet connection  New Arris 2B8200 ModemAll green and no Internet connection  I'm convinced I have a dud but I'm open to suggestions.

My SB8200v3 no longer works it only has power light & no others on.Called Cox cable & the tech checked signal from the neighbourhood underground “riser” to the modem. He replaced/ upgraded the cable from the side of the house to the modem.  He then installed a cox-cable modem & it worked like a champ. The tech said it is definitely a bad modem, I have to agree.I even tried the reset...The modem is 9 months old and I would like to return, how do I start the process.

Hi, I had my surfboard SB200v3 connected to a secondary device called a Gryphon. I want to disconnect my Gryphon and just connect to my Wi-Fi using my Arris. But when I go into my WiFi settings on my phone, I don’t see any account that might be my surfboard. What am I looking for? What will it be called? If I have to manually add the account which numbers from the bottom of the device am I supposed to add in?thank you!

My SB8200 kept losing connection and now will no longer reconnect. I have went through the power cycles, hard resets, and replaced the coax cable. It feels like it’s running hot in-spite of being out in the open and has been moved away from everything. I have xfinity gigabit internet and was told that it was compatible.  What can I do to get this modem replaced as I haven’t had it that long

Hot to the touch. I can barely pick it up in summer. I have it sitting on my A/C vent with the furnace fan running 24/7. Temps read over 100 degrees F. Is this normal? It DOES affect my internet connection, signal get dropped and is very slow at times.

Is the SB8200 compatible with AT&T DSL internet?

Arris router- SB8200  Hey everyone, I’m trying to use my company VPN for my work computer with Cisco. I keep getting an error message saying my current location is restricting access to the internet, well I know my internet is working fine and when I talked to my provider they mentioned it could be the router. Does anybody have an idea of why I need to do to allow my company VPN to connect to the computer 

I have a SB8200 and use to have wow as my SP. Well I now have spectrum and it is still showing wow on the aris app under device details. How can I correct this?

Xfinity did a two week upgrade to infrastructure in our area and since it has been completed, my SB8200 goes down 5 or 6 times a day, typical for 10 to 15 minutes each time.  Xfinity is telling me that the modem may no longer be compatible with the newer signals.  I have a tech coming, but not sure what that will do.  keeping up with technology is always a moving target.

SB8200 will not power-up, no lights.  Website will not validate the S/N to reach tech support.  Confirmed 12v at plug.  Purchased new Jan 2024, so still within warranty.

How do I enable WPA 2 or WPA 3 on an Arris 8200 modem 

Recently bought a new 8200. New cat6 cables. Can achieve 950 down directly connected to my PC. When I attach it to my router, it default negotiates to 100mbps full duplex. If I set it to 1000mbps full duplex it immediately loses connection to the modem. Cables are all fine, work individually. Can't find any information online of people encountering a similar issue

I worked with service provider to get the new modem registered but it isn't coming up when I search for available networks. I have Internet as it is working with the Ethernet cable. How do I get the new modem to show up in my available networks?

Order # 61170After reading through these forums, there seems to be a serious issue with your order processing. Multiple people are reporting no order confirmation received after placing an online order.  I have the same issue. My credit card has been charged. I have no order confirmation. I have no way to log in and check if the order is being processed because when I attempt to create an account it says my email is already associated with an account. The “forgot password” option does NOT send a password reset to my email address. I called technical support and they assured me I would receive an email Monday 8/25/25 by end of day. It is now 8/26/25 and I have no email confirmation. What is going on Arris?!?

My SB8200 does not work.  All lights are flashing rapidly.  I tried a different power supply, outlet, coax cable, and resetting it with no luck.  I think it’s dead.  It should still be under warranty, but I cannot find the serial number on the website.  Please help.

Hello, My Arris SB8200 modem no longer powers on (no lights, even with a known working outlet and power adapter), so I believe it has failed. I am looking to request a warranty replacement. However, when trying to verify the warranty for my modem with the online warranty tool, it says it cannot locate my serial number. The modem was purchased less than 2 years ago from Amazon. I can provide the serial number and order details upon request.

I have a new SB8200 that I connected to Spectrum. When I connect my PC to the ethernet port I have access to the internet, but I cannot connect my router to the second port. When I do it does not indicate internet access. If I remove the PC and reboot the modem then the router gets access to the internet but as soon as I plug in the PC the PC can’t get access.What am I doing wrong?

My connection randomly keeps shutting off. I use a w21 arris modem with a surfboard model sb8200. I have tried hard resetting it, unplugging both for 5-10 minutes, I have tried moving the router around the house. To no avail. It used to work great, now we can hardly stay on the internet for more than 5 minutes at a time. Is there any solution to this?

My modem is receiving internet from Xfinity but unable to connect to an Orbi router. Upon speaking with a technician at Xfinity they told me it was a manufacturer issue with the modem

Hi, I would like to ask if the SB8200A modem is in any way compatible with the SB8200B modem. The 8200A is supposed to use 6 MHz channels, while the 8200B should use 8 MHz channels. Is it enough to just flash the firmware, or is it a different hardware altogether, meaning you can’t turn an 8200A modem into an 8200B? Thank you for your answer.

Lost power this weekend (it was connected to an APC UPS) and after reboot the SB8200 steady blinks (all 4 LEDs and the Ethernet ports).  There doesn't seem to be any decernabIe pattern.  I also can't get DHCP directly connected to a computer or communicate with a static IP.  Did the 10 sec hold several times on the reset button to do a factory reset.  Behavior continues and is persistent regardless of what's attached to the modem.  Device is still under warranty per this site.

If its not, which model is? Please

SB8200 I did a factory reset because i couldn’t find my notes on the password i had created and the passwords online were not working. I disconnected the coax before the factory reset.  Tried logging in….browser says it can’t reach it even though i am connected to it via CAT 7. I am getting this error:   PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR I have tried both Edge and Firefox.I connected the coax and get online but still cannot get to the login page of the modem.  I want to confirm the mHz that it is operating at to make sure it is in the acceptable range for Comcast.
