Unable to locate 2.4 GHz on all Devices

I cannot seem to get the 2.4 ghz networks to appear regularly appear on any device. They have briefly appeared over the past month and then dissapear withing minutes. I have tried factory resent, enabling and disabling the networks, and changing the 2.4 ghz channel without success. What else can I do?

Arris Surfboard SBG8300 2Ghz connection issue

Every time I need to connect a home device to the 2G connection it is a frustrating experience. Most of the time I have to keep trying over a period of days and then finally it connects -- and thankfully -- stays connected and reconnects following power outages just fine. BUT I can’t go on like this having to repeat this process when a device needs to be reset.Here’s what I have discovered with my Orbit Sprinkler Control WIFI Hub:Connecting to 2G band, on entering Surfboard WIFI information, app just spins forever. Never connects.Enable Hotspot on my phone, on entering WIFI information, app connects immediately. Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information, app just spins forever.Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information with on-purpose bad password, connection refused in a couple seconds.Enable guest network on Surfboard, disable authentication completely, on entering WIFI information app connects immediately.So … what’s the problem with th

surfboard SBG8300 - Lag Spikes

I got this modem router ~60 days ago (of course past my return time) and have recently ran into what seems like bottlenecking/spikes in ping randomly while gaming/streaming. I originally thought this issue was just my pc but then my devices connected via Wi-Fi also had buffering hiccups This didn’t start until yesterday. Unplugged and replugged everything. Contacted ISP, everything was good on their end. Deleted temp files..etc…etc. only not new part of the hardware is my 30ft cable wire. However, it was working fine with my previous modem router and internet speed. when I test the speed I’m at expected levels. But again, it’s random when it happens and it’s across multiple devices. has anyone ran into this? Any help is welcome

Provisioned SBG8300 active, but "no" internet

Alright, here’s the deal: I had recent cabline line with 90VAC on the line - yep, shocked at one point, so I checked. My original modem was squealing, assumed it was dead. Neighbors had internet. Modem was an older Cisco DPC3010, so nearly a decade old, but still fast enough for me. Assuming the dead original modem, not aware of the voltage on the line, I went and bought another modem so I could finish my work projects that were past due. Plug new modem in instantly squeals at me and all lights solid - no change since then. This was not the SBG8300 model. So now two dead modems. I’m an electrical engineer doing power system and control system designs. At one point earlier in career I was going for my Cisco CCNA; I decided to change careers and didn’t need to continue certification, but am not a complete novice when it comes to IT type stuff.Several calls with xfinity, and they have tech come out and see voltage, works on line, and requests new line be buried and to have other

Troubleshooting my router for the SBG8300

I’ve been talking to my internet provider about how I’m only running two PS4 devices, one LAN wired and one on WiFi. I’ve been trying to reset my connection several times for my 1,000 gig network plan, and I’ve been told they can connect modem, but they can’t connect router within my device. I’ve been told to connect the manufacturer aka ARRIS to help with this situation. HELP please

How to reset the login information for the web manager AND the Surfboard app (SBG8300)

I am trying to get into the Web manager but the default login information provided in the quick start guide is not working and I did not make an account when I did the initial set up because the app did not let me. So I am unable to login to neither the Web Manager nor the Surfboard app.

SBG8300 Unable to login on Webmanager 192.168.0.1

When I try to login using the credentials identified it is not allowing me in. I cannot reset the modem because it was DIFFICULT adding devices to the 2.4 band. How can I find the correct password for 192.168.0.1? I also have been having difficulty adding the Chamberlain My-Q garage opener to the 2.4 bandwidth. Do you have any suggestions for this issue?

I just noticed my new SBG8300 has a setting on Ethernet port 4 to turn on “WAN over Ethernet.” Does this mean I could connect this to a second router (elsewhere in the house) and connect to it as a separate network with internet connection?

SGB8300 Connected but no Internet

I am having issues connecting to the internet with my new SGB8300 modem. Service is through Cox and they confirmed that they are seeing the modem and everything on their end is connected. I am unable to get connected via both wifi and LAN line. The error is connected but no internet. I have restarted/reset the modem several times with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to get connected to the internet.

Intermittent / no connection

I bought an 8300 so I could turn in our Comcast rental wifi modem. I selected the 8300 in part because it advertised the highest square foot coverage. We have a basic Xfinity plan - 75 Mb, and that has always been plenty (It was plenty for us at 25 and 50, back in the days when those were the basic plan data rates)The 8300 has so far been much less reliable, especially for my older Win7 laptop, which won’t connect at all despite 3 bars and 30 foot distance - almost line of sight location...my laptop connects only to our extender for the kids rooms down a hall, and that only intermittently. Out of curiosity I tried configuring the 8300’s guest network for 2.4G - still no joy.I turned on WiFi band steering and that somewhat helped, allowing me to connect but still only via the extender.Ideas anyone?

Continues disconnection of 24. wifi on SBG8300

As the title states, I received my SBG8300 modem/router two days ago. I immediately noticed that the 2.4 Wifi kept disappearing, and I lost connection. I’ve factory reset the modem, and the problem persists, and now my Alexa and Smart Life app is failing to connect since it requires 2.4 wifi. The website shows it is active.This is one of many problems I have experienced. I could use the web but not the mobile app, as it wouldn’t connect. Now I can use the mobile app, but the web won’t connect.Is this a product defect?Update: I got the Alexa and Web working. I’m still experiencing 2.4 wifi dropping while the app and web state it is online.
