What is the latest firmware update for SBG8300?

I'm trying to install a Swann outdoor security camera and I'm having problems. the instructions state that I need 2.4GHz, is my modem/router 2.4ghz capable?

whatsapp calling (and a select few other apps) works on any other router on my network, but not my sbg8300. How do you change the settings on the sbg8300 to allow for whatsapp calling to work? can connect to whatsapp and send messages, just not the calling feature. Also NordVPN does not work on this router - how can this be allowed?

This post is referring to my past posting in this forum topic titled “intermittent disconnects SBG8300”.I am interested in finding out if there is/are any settings for the router portion of the modem that could have an affect on disconnects I am receiving when gaming. I have narrowed it down to the router being at the root of my problem.I had set-up “enable bridge mode”, which completely bypasses the router for a direct connect through the modem and experienced no disconnects.Any help would be appreciated. Also, it is still under warranty.  Is there a way for me to contact Arris directly for tech support or does their warranty only pertain to repair and or replacement?

Hi All, New to the community here.   I’m having a problem with getting periodic disconnects with my SBG8300 while playing the game Fallout 76 (Bethesda Softworks).  I have been back and forth with Bethesda Tech Support about this problem and we have gone through many different troubleshooting scenarios. For clarity, the disconnects occur anywhere from 15 minutes to half hour and up to an hour of game play. What happens is the game notifies me that I have been disconnected and returns me to the game’s launcher.   Working with tech support we did find recently that by enabling bridge mode in the modem, which bypasses the router portion of the modem seemed to have a positive effect and I had no disconnects.  Bridge mode disables wifi and only allows ethernet connect.  Which leads me to my question.  Is there something I can check or do or set in the modem to further troubleshoot my problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brand new surfboard 8300, runs at ~ 100f . This is on a shelf with nothing around it.  Picked up a small desk fan and that keeps the Modem at 75f or so, but the fan needs to run constantly,

Lighting cam through my area. Power went out for a few hours. My SBG8300 modem/router shows online blue solid light but nothing for WiFi. I have tried to hard reset but the modem doesn’t respond after holding for more than a minute. Unplugging and plugging back does nothing. 

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change/update the device names that are connected to WiFi? When I click on edit, where it says unknown is grayed out so I am unable to change it. Hope someone can help me. :)

I have multiple computers that all need the same internal port number exposed on separate external ports (example : router:1001 → hostA: 443, router:1002 → hostB:443)When I try to set port forwarding settings per the documentation (https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SBG8300-Port-Forwarding-Setup/?l=en_US&fs=RelatedArticle)  Using “other” as a “common service” I am never presented with the internal and external start/end port number fields, just Start and End Port.  Because of this I cannot set separate internal and external port numbers.Am I doing something wrong or is there a configuration / host issue that I need to address to make this work?Thanks!  

Port forwarding works from Internet to my server, eg: https://SnellsNotebook.us properly produces a web page to an internet user.  However attempting to connect to the server using its FQDN (SnellsNotebook.us)  from device connected to the LAN (wired or wireless makes no difference) results in accessing the router’s login web page.  This behavior is unique in my experience, as all of the routers I have had previously would resolve the FQDN the same regardless of whether the request came from WAN or LAN.Static address for my web server srv1.local is 192.168.0.10I have forwarded ports 80 and 443 to 192.168.0.10Port Triggering is off.  RIP is off.  DMZ is off. I have a web server being port forwarded (ex: www.mywebsite.com).DNS resolves properly from every client, inside and outside LAN.If I try to connect via a browser (Chrome or FireFox, Windows/Linux/Android) from INSIDE my LAN, it will FAIL.If I try to connect via a browser from OUTSIDE my LAN (ex: same cell phone but not on Wifi) it will WORK. Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere, or is this a bug?  

New 8300 User. When I logged in on my iPhone using the default settings for the 2.4 network I had internet. I changed the SSID name/password of that 2.4 band but the gateway is not broadcasting it; it still shows the default. I’ve restarted the app and rebooted the gateway. I’ve also tried logging into the Web interface but I can’t seem to get in. Advice please. i have a ton of 2.4 band devices that are wondering why I have deserted them...

I have a new SBG8300. I have gone through all of the setups. I changed the name of the 2.4 GHz SSID to a user friendly name. I was able to connect. Then I went in to change the 5.0 GHz SSID and I tapped on the option 'Enable Single SSID for 2.4G/5.0G bands'. It did not change the 5.0G and now the 2.4G that I successfully changed is no longer available in my wifi network list. How can I get the 2.4G to show and set it as my Main WI-FI network?

On a SBG8300, how do I monitor how many gigabytes pass through it to compare to my ISP?  ISP says my data usage went up 300% in 1 month with no changes in usage!

Hi,I have an SBG8300.My internet was down this morning, but the online and Wi-Fi lights were illuminated. I tried in connecting and reconnecting the power. No luck. Then I tried resetting with a paper clip. I held the button down for a minute (timed). Nothing happened. The lights stayed on the whole time. When I disconnect the internet cable (the power cable is the only thing left plugged in), the online and wifi lights are still illuminated. Even if I power cycle, the second I plug the power cable in, it says I have wifi, even without the wifi cable.I’m at a loss for what to do here. Is there another way to reset my device? Do I just need to buy a new one?

I just downloaded the app, to try and run a speedtest, but my app is showing the wrong device connected.I have a SBG8300, black modem/router. I set this up via the web portal, but when I logged into the app, it is showing it as an S33 white modem only.This is preventing me from doing a wifi speedtest.Anyone else having this issue, or know why it's happening?

While this modem seems to work, it does not work well at all! Contacting a human to discuss isn’t available it doesn’t seem without paying for it during the warranty period.  (ITS still under warranty!)Several issues I have.   The one that is driving me absolutely crazy is after I set the STATIC IP’s for devices on my network that MUST stay at a static location (CAMERAS).  I set up all of my static IP’s and turn on the network for them all to get their proper IP’s.  That seems to work well.  After a couple months, ALL of my static leases are GONE!  Cameras are at other IP’s.  Set to static again and again month or so later… GONE!  Other issues that I have had and I just STOPPED attempting to use it… I want my LOCAL IP’s to be 10.199.30.XXX.  I setup the DHCP server side for that with starting IP’s at the 20’s to 250.  Works GREAT… UNTIL… A month or so, the SUBNET changes to something that is WAY out of scope and NOTHING works.   I have to factory reset and s

How does one go about filing a warranty claim for a failed Arris SBG8300 cable modem please? Thank you for your time and any helpful information you may be able to provide me with.

I cannot seem to get the 2.4 ghz networks to appear regularly appear on any device.  They have briefly appeared over the past month and then dissapear withing minutes.  I have tried factory resent, enabling and disabling the networks, and changing the 2.4 ghz channel without success.  What else can I do?

SBG8300 connected to LAN, and I get internet with wired connections, but no internet via wireless connections. 

Every time I need to connect a home device to the 2G connection it is a frustrating experience.  Most of the time I have to keep trying over a period of days and then finally it connects  -- and thankfully -- stays connected and reconnects following power outages just fine.  BUT I can’t go on like this having to repeat this process when a device needs to be reset.Here’s what I have discovered with my Orbit Sprinkler Control WIFI Hub:Connecting to 2G band, on entering Surfboard WIFI information, app just spins forever.  Never connects.Enable Hotspot on my phone, on entering WIFI information, app connects immediately. Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information, app just spins forever.Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information with on-purpose bad password, connection refused in a couple seconds.Enable guest network on Surfboard, disable authentication completely, on entering WIFI information app connect

I switch to Bridge mode and all IPv4 disappears from WAN. Why is this happening

I got this modem router ~60 days ago (of course past my return time) and have recently ran into what seems like bottlenecking/spikes in ping randomly while gaming/streaming.  I originally thought this issue was just my pc but then my devices connected via Wi-Fi also had buffering hiccups This didn’t start until yesterday. Unplugged and replugged everything. Contacted ISP, everything was good on their end. Deleted temp files..etc…etc. only not new part of the hardware is my 30ft cable wire. However, it was working fine with my previous modem router and internet speed. when I test the speed I’m at expected levels. But again, it’s random when it happens and it’s across multiple devices. has anyone ran into this? Any help is welcome
