SBG8300

Hi, I have an SBG8300. My internet was down this morning, but the online and Wi-Fi lights were illuminated. I tried in connecting and reconnecting the power. No luck. Then I tried resetting with a paper clip. I held the button down for a minute (timed). Nothing happened. The lights stayed on the whole time. When I disconnect the internet cable (the power cable is the only thing left plugged in), the online and wifi lights are still illuminated. Even if I power cycle, the second I plug the power cable in, it says I have wifi, even without the wifi cable. I’m at a loss for what to do here. Is there another way to reset my device? Do I just need to buy a new one?

I just downloaded the app, to try and run a speedtest, but my app is showing the wrong device connected. I have a SBG8300, black modem/router. I set this up via the web portal, but when I logged into the app, it is showing it as an S33 white modem only. This is preventing me from doing a wifi speedtest. Anyone else having this issue, or know why it's happening?

While this modem seems to work, it does not work well at all! Contacting a human to discuss isn’t available it doesn’t seem without paying for it during the warranty period. (ITS still under warranty!) Several issues I have. The one that is driving me absolutely crazy is after I set the STATIC IP’s for devices on my network that MUST stay at a static location (CAMERAS). I set up all of my static IP’s and turn on the network for them all to get their proper IP’s. That seems to work well. After a couple months, ALL of my static leases are GONE! Cameras are at other IP’s. Set to static again and again month or so later… GONE! Other issues that I have had and I just STOPPED attempting to use it… I want my LOCAL IP’s to be 10.199.30.XXX. I setup the DHCP server side for that with starting IP’s at the 20’s to 250. Works GREAT… UNTIL… A month or so, the SUBNET changes to something that is WAY out of scope and NOTHING works. I cannot seem to get the 2.4 ghz networks to appear regularly appear on any device. They have briefly appeared over the past month and then dissapear withing minutes. I have tried factory resent, enabling and disabling the networks, and changing the 2.4 ghz channel without success. What else can I do?

SBG8300 connected to LAN, and I get internet with wired connections, but no internet via wireless connections.

Every time I need to connect a home device to the 2G connection it is a frustrating experience. Most of the time I have to keep trying over a period of days and then finally it connects -- and thankfully -- stays connected and reconnects following power outages just fine. BUT I can’t go on like this having to repeat this process when a device needs to be reset. Here’s what I have discovered with my Orbit Sprinkler Control WIFI Hub: Connecting to 2G band, on entering Surfboard WIFI information, app just spins forever. Never connects. Enable Hotspot on my phone, on entering WIFI information, app connects immediately. Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information, app just spins forever. I got this modem router ~60 days ago (of course past my return time) and have recently ran into what seems like bottlenecking/spikes in ping randomly while gaming/streaming. I originally thought this issue was just my pc but then my devices connected via Wi-Fi also had buffering hiccups This didn’t start until yesterday. Unplugged and replugged everything. Contacted ISP, everything was good on their end. Deleted temp files..etc…etc. only not new part of the hardware is my 30ft cable wire. However, it was working fine with my previous modem router and internet speed. when I test the speed I’m at expected levels. But again, it’s random when it happens and it’s across multiple devices. has anyone ran into this? Any help is welcome

ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 I have to reboot every morning for proper download speed otherwise it's slow. I’m paying for 1 Gbps speed and the modem is receiving 10% until I reboot. This constant reboot creates havic with my 3 smart TV’s...

Alright, here’s the deal: I had recent cabline line with 90VAC on the line - yep, shocked at one point, so I checked. My original modem was squealing, assumed it was dead. Neighbors had internet. Modem was an older Cisco DPC3010, so nearly a decade old, but still fast enough for me. Assuming the dead original modem, not aware of the voltage on the line, I went and bought another modem so I could finish my work projects that were past due. Plug new modem in instantly squeals at me and all lights solid - no change since then. This was not the SBG8300 model. So now two dead modems. I’m an electrical engineer doing power system and control system designs. At one point earlier in career I was going for my Cisco CCNA; I decided to change careers and didn’t need to continue certification, but am not a complete novice when it comes to IT type stuff. The specs chart on the SBG8300 says it has a pairing button. Where is the button located, and can it be used to connect an extender?

I’ve been talking to my internet provider about how I’m only running two PS4 devices, one LAN wired and one on WiFi. I’ve been trying to reset my connection several times for my 1,000 gig network plan, and I’ve been told they can connect modem, but they can’t connect router within my device. I’ve been told to connect the manufacturer aka ARRIS to help with this situation. HELP please

How do I get the SBC app referred to in the instructions?

The power supply to the router died, have only had this router since April 25, 2023. How do I get this replaced?

I have tried to restart and factory restart my device, but the internet button just blinks blue. The machine shows up on my computer but there is no internet.

I am trying to get into the Web manager but the default login information provided in the quick start guide is not working and I did not make an account when I did the initial set up because the app did not let me. So I am unable to login to neither the Web Manager nor the Surfboard app.

When I try to login using the credentials identified it is not allowing me in. I cannot reset the modem because it was DIFFICULT adding devices to the 2.4 band. How can I find the correct password for 192.168.0.1? I also have been having difficulty adding the Chamberlain My-Q garage opener to the 2.4 bandwidth. Do you have any suggestions for this issue?

I just noticed my new SBG8300 has a setting on Ethernet port 4 to turn on “WAN over Ethernet.” Does this mean I could connect this to a second router (elsewhere in the house) and connect to it as a separate network with internet connection?

I am having issues connecting to the internet with my new SGB8300 modem. Service is through Cox and they confirmed that they are seeing the modem and everything on their end is connected. I am unable to get connected via both wifi and LAN line. The error is connected but no internet. I have restarted/reset the modem several times with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to get connected to the internet.

Top light is slow blue flash. Bottom light solid green. Cox says they can not see the modem.
