SBG8300

I just replaced my xfinity wifi modem with the SBG8300. Contacted xfinity and they did all they could on their end. I ha e wifi but no internet connection. What do I need to do?

My SBG 8300 was working perfect. One day I did not have any service and the front panel was black, no lights. I unplugged the modem and repowered it on, only 5 quick flashes were seen, nothing else. does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

I currently have a SBG8300  and we purchased a TP-Link Deco XE75 AXE5400 to use in our new home.  I needed to extend the range of our WiFi to reach my detached garage.When Suddenlink/Optimum came to install the cable they told me that my Surfboard SBG8300 wouldn’t work with the TP-Link system.  I have read somewhere that I can use the SBG8300 as a modem only, but I’m wondering if there are other issues.  Should I just purchase a modem only?  Are there security issues with using the surfboard as a modem only?Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed.

Xfinity is telling me my router needs updating because my speeds are slow. Where can I figure out how to do this?

I set up port forwarding for my AirTV and Camera security system. All works fine for a day or so and then stops working. I was rebooting my router to resolve this issue but found that simply turning port forwarding off and then back on solves the problem. It is kind of frustrating that I need to do this on a regular basis. Is this a know issue? Is there a fix on the way? Is there a work around? Any help would be appreciated.

I replaced a sbg8300 that was killed by a power surge a month ago with another sbg8300. I got it up and running, everything was working great. But for the last 2 days all of my devices suddenly lose connectivity to the wifi.When I try to reconnect, the password that was previously saved is gone. I type it in and receive a message saying that the password is incorrect. I know that I'm typing it correctly.I've connected to the router with my laptop via Ethernet cord and signed into the router settings and verified that not only is it the right password, but according to the router both networks are working.This keeps happening and I'm at a loss. My old sbg8300 didn't do this.

We have a SBG8300.  When logging into Cisco AnyConnect, It is saying “The VPN connection to the selected secure gateway requires a routable IPv4 physical adapter address.  Please move to an IPv4 network and retry the connection or select a different secure gateway.” Not sure if it matters, but this a government laptop. We have another home laptop that also logs into a VPN, but it is commercial company VPN, and with no issues. Suggestions?

Successfully activated comcast/xfinity. Ethernet connect working fine. Added my own password successfully. Cannot access wifi on this laptop, where set up was done. Cannot access wifi on my smartphone using my own password or the network password. Reboot of SBG8300 B261 did not fix. What now?

I can’t seem to manage any devices from the web browser, nor can I add devices to profiles on the app on IOS. 

Hello, I just got a new SBG8300, 2.4G wifi appeared at the beginning, but after changing the SSID and password, it disappeared. I have tried General FAQs: SBG8300: Changing the Wi-Fi Channel (salesforce-sites.com) to change channel to 1,6,11, none works. I did setup 2.4G Security Mode as “Open”,  didn’t work.  Reset didn’t work either.Also, my “Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer” doesn’t show any results after scanning, both 2.4G and 5G options. 5G is working very well, just no 2.4G at all. I have saw a few topics here about this 2.4G problem, I guess this might be a defect, not really a channel conflict issue,  do we have a final solution for it now? Thanks!

Sparklight tested everything and said was good on their end and that it is our modem.  Anyone have suggestions?

I got a Arris SBG8300 recently and ever since I have been unable to access some websites and mobile apps (like What’sApp) on ethernet and wifi. Some websites are just ridiculously slow. Speedtest.net does not even work. I cannot sync my clock in Windows to any time servers (tried microsoft, google, ntp.org, nist.gov). My ISP says there’s nothing wrong with my connection. I’ve tried updating DNS servers and still having the problem. When I switch to my sibling’s wifi (same isp, different modem) all of these things work instantly and quickly.Not sure what else to do or what to check.

I recently switched my home Modem/Router to the SBG8300 and upgradED my xFinity internet to 800 MBPS. I am observing that the max WiFi speed is around 450-550 MBPS range. Does anyone know if this is what I should expect or if this an xFinity issue or a Modem/Router issue? How do I go about troubleshooting this?

Please provide me with a link of the battery back up that I can buy. Where does the battery back up need to be connected to?

I am getting this error code when trying to set up my app with the SBG8300.  I have not changed the network information as this is a new device — This is the first time trying to set up. Device is receiving and transmitting as all devices in the home are connected using the temporary SSID on the label.  What is the issue?

Is there a firmware update (yes, I know the ISP, (that refuses to support me, or keep things up to date) pushes it) to enable Ethernet WAN on the DG3450 (SBG8300 has it, and it’s the same thing) 

I forgot my password on the app and there’s no forgot password link 

My sbg8300 will run fine for 5 or 6 day or sometimes only 1 or 2 days and then just randomly powers off completely ( no lights) I unplug it lights come back on it reboots and connects … sometimes for only a couple of minutes then powers back off other times it stays on for days with no issues… I have changed the power cord.tried other receptacles… I have done a factory reset. I can find no pattern … it is in an open environment so doesn’t appear to be overheating related ….warm to touch but not hot. Please help. Thanks

SBG8300 shuts off every few hours

I try to connect to my 2.4 g wifi and it says disabled but when I go into my surfboard it’s enabled and I still can’t connect

Trying to log into my router via 192.168.0.1. For creds I’m using the email address I use for my Surfboard Central app account (which works fine in the app), and the password on the physical bottom of the router. I get an invalid credentials error. What am I missing?

I need assistance disabling IPv6 in the settings of my Arris SBG8300.  I cannot find the settings in the WAN or Advanced where the IPv6 can be turned off. 

I am unable to enter the router settings through 192.168.0.1 . Keeps returning Warning “Your Connection is Not Private. Started doing this a while back. I am not able to use the WPS because I cannot get in.

NordVPN doesn’t give an error, it just simply won’t connect at all while on the wifi with the sbg8300 router. any ideas on how to troubleshoot what the error is exactly? I have gotten this with nordvpn on some other wifi networks as well, particularly some airport wifis, etc, but most of the time it just connects.In addition, every time I try to connect a Ring device, it says to “check internet connection”, even on the 2.4ghz network. Any idea how to get that to work?SIP has been disabled already
