SBG8300

As the title states, I received my SBG8300 modem/router two days ago. I immediately noticed that the 2.4 Wifi kept disappearing, and I lost connection. I’ve factory reset the modem, and the problem persists, and now my Alexa and Smart Life app is failing to connect since it requires 2.4 wifi. The website shows it is active.This is one of many problems I have experienced. I could use the web but not the mobile app, as it wouldn’t connect. Now I can use the mobile app, but the web won’t connect.Is this a product defect?Update: I got the Alexa and Web working. I’m still experiencing 2.4 wifi dropping while the app and web state it is online.

I recently installed an Arris SGB8300. Prior to installing, I almost never had issues with audio during my meetings. Now, the audio frequently cuts out for about 3-5 seconds. I can still see peoples’ mouths moving and the live captions pick up what they are saying but I cannot hear it. During meetings, I am connected to the 5Ghz network. I have Breezeline/Atlantic Broadband for an ISP. Here’s what I’ve tried:--reset gateway--connect to ethernet--turned off guest networks--audio with multiple sets of headphones (corded and wireless) and straight from computer speakers--happens in both Teams and Zoom calls, also happens when private listening to Roku streaming--run speed tests (very fast internet) and wifi analyzers--manually changed network channelThe only thing that has fixed it without fail is switching to my phone’s hot spot, so I am pretty certain it is the gateway. Is there a setting I should be looking for that I am missin

I need to find complications with Arris SBG8300 and Eero devices

I just purchased my new Modem model SBG8300. I have Xfinity speeds up to 800mbps and upload speed of 200mbps. But with this modem I get 300mbps download and like 10mbps upload.  Any help or advice?

I have an SBG8300 modem/router connected to Comcast/Xfinity Cable.I bought it from BestBuy last month, and it was working completely fine in the first few days (around 5 days). However, it periodically loses internet connection about every 2-4 days, and I have to unplug and plug back the modem each time to restore the connection. I called the ISP customer service, and they said they had updated the settings, but the same scenario kept happening afterward.Is there any possible reason for this? The WAN status when the internet is not working is similar to the one when the internet is working.

Installed an SBG8300. WiFi works fine, but Ethernet doesn’t list as an available network.

Why can I not register my new modem on the website?

Bought a used SBG 8300.  Modem works except wifi was setup by previous user and I do not have the password.   I tried to reset the modem by pressing the reset button more than 5 seconds however the modem would not revert back to factory settings after the reset.   What are my options?

Hello -- Optimum provisioning is not updating the WAN IP address properly to get out to the internet -- still showing the internal WAN IP address so can’t get out to the internet.  I can get the WIFI set up so it’s got have something to do with proxy or security or some setting within the admin portal.  They want to send out a technician at $60 for service call.  I don’t want to go there if someone knows what setting I should be updating to make it provision properly…..Any help is appreciated!!!

I am trying to log into my router manager. It's the default login. Username admin Password ?I've tried PasswordAdmin It's what Google said to use. Neither work. Any ideas on what the Password could be?

I now have AT&T fiber optic using their modem/router in my house. Previously I had Comcast cable and used my Arris SBG8300 for WiFi.  I have a Cat5 cable running from my house to my detached garage which I used in the past plugged into my Arris Model SBG8300 (house) when I had Comcast Cable. The Cat5 cable was plugged into a laptop I used in the garage. My question is, can I plug my Arris into the Cat 5 cable in my garage, connected to my AT&T Router/Modem (house) and use it for Wi-Fi for some remote security cameras in my garage? 

Hello I have a SBG8300 and the wifi 2.4GHz always have an issue to connect, the 5G work fine and have no issues. It either won't connect or the specific wifi name not appear at all. The modem always need to be turn on and off every several days. It started happening in the last couple months and just getting worst now since I just reset the power 2 days ago. Now it needs to be reset at least twice every week and it becomes stressful all my securities devices need to be reset  each time. Please help resolve this issue.

I have been trying for the better part of an hour to log in to surfboard manager and it won’t let me create an account.  I put in my email address and the first ten times it said that it couldn’t find my email address, then it finally prompted me to create an account. I put in my email address and name and created a password and it keeps saying to enter a correct new password and it won’t allow me to get past that.  Help

I recently got a SBG8300. I registered it with my ISP, Cox, and set it up. The solid green led indicator is on and I verified through the admin page that it was assigned an IP. However, the modem doesn’t seem to be able to access the internet. Both Ethernet and the onboard router aren’t able to provide internet access 

Have aless than 1 yr old SBG8300.  Internet works with hardwired electronics but Wi-Fi will not how do I fix

Are any software updates ever created for my Wi-Fi cable modem/router ARRIS SBG8300?How often should I replace my router/cable modem for security sake? The model I am using now I purchased in 2020 would it be out of date?

Just purchased this modem and tried to activate on Xfinity and the tech I was working with was unable to see it.  The top LED on the front was a solid green, and the bottom one was blinking green.  After providing the MAC address to the tech and waiting, I was never able to get a proper internet connection.  I WAS able to get their ‘activation’ screen up, but when following all the steps I would end up back at the initial activation screen. To me this sounds like an Xfinity problem, but the fact that the tech was unable to ‘see’ my modem makes me unsure.  When we were done I just plugged my old modem back in and all worked fine.  So now my new modem is waiting for me to make another run at this whole installation.  He seemed to think that there may be a problem with the new modem, which is why I am here to see if anyone has any ideas.   I really don’t think I should need a tech to come install this.

Where can I locate the browser history? I have gone to the webpage for my SBG8300, logged in, and clicked on every possible option listed but have not been able to locate it.

SBG8300 modemprovider speed is 350, pay for 300 I have a hard wired tv that keeps randomly buffering, it doesn’t matter which app I am using on a Hisense Roku tv.I cannot log on to the gui interface because every time I try to log on the password automatically doubles in size when I hit the log in button, happens on desktop and iPhone.

ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Cable Modem & AC2350 Wi-Fi Router Purchased this modem/router combo last month so that I could stop renting one through Midcontinent. The issue below has occurred intermittently since then, but worse over the last 2 weeks. I am not well-versed in this area, but will explain the best I can. I receive an error - every day - of "Connected, No Internet" on my Hisense android TV. Other devices (phone, laptop) will also disconnect when this happens. I've rebooted the modem (and affected devices) multiple times. My TV network settings will show "Connected - Signal Strength Excellent" but no wifi access. When I reboot the modem, I'm able to reconnect the other devices, but the TV will usually continue showing the error. (As of the time of this post, the TV is connected to wifi and working). I have a DVR security system connected to the modem via ethernet cable, which is unaffected by this connectivity

New modem/router. Subscribed to Spectrum 1G internet. Speeds slow - 30-90 Mbps with cable, about the same over Wi-Fi.Called spectrum, tech came out and suspects device needs a firmware update. Speeds were good out the cable - 800-900Mbps. When installing, I remember the blue/green flashing.Tech was kind enough to look in to it a little bit, but we can’t tell if the firmware on the device is most current.In the manager, it shows firmware 01.01.139.NCS installed. Is that the most current? any other advice would be appreciated.

I need to be able to change the default Username of my Arris SBG8300 Gateway from "admin" to something else. How do I do this?

I am totally not technology savvy. My problem is connecting 3 mini Blink cameras and 2 older laptops to the SBG8300. I reset the mini Blinks and they won’t recognize the 8300 unless I unplug the router for 10 seconds. Then they may or may not recognize it, and when they do I enter the wifi password. Then they disconnect a few minutes later. Same with the older laptops. I have 2 laptops, 2 phones, and smart TV that have successfully connected without problems. Any idea’s why these camera’s and older laptops don’t connect. The problem started immediately after setting up the 8300. Hopefully this makes sense.
