ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Cable Modem & AC2350 Wi-Fi Router Purchased this modem/router combo last month so that I could stop renting one through Midcontinent. The issue below has occurred intermittently since then, but worse over the last 2 weeks. I am not well-versed in this area, but will explain the best I can. I receive an error - every day - of "Connected, No Internet" on my Hisense android TV. Other devices (phone, laptop) will also disconnect when this happens. I've rebooted the modem (and affected devices) multiple times. My TV network settings will show "Connected - Signal Strength Excellent" but no wifi access. When I reboot the modem, I'm able to reconnect the other devices, but the TV will usually continue showing the error. (As of the time of this post, the TV is connected to wifi and working). I have a DVR security system connected to the modem via ethernet cable, which is unaffected by this connectivity

New modem/router. Subscribed to Spectrum 1G internet. Speeds slow - 30-90 Mbps with cable, about the same over Wi-Fi.Called spectrum, tech came out and suspects device needs a firmware update. Speeds were good out the cable - 800-900Mbps. When installing, I remember the blue/green flashing.Tech was kind enough to look in to it a little bit, but we can’t tell if the firmware on the device is most current.In the manager, it shows firmware 01.01.139.NCS installed. Is that the most current? any other advice would be appreciated.

I need to be able to change the default Username of my Arris SBG8300 Gateway from "admin" to something else. How do I do this?

I am totally not technology savvy. My problem is connecting 3 mini Blink cameras and 2 older laptops to the SBG8300. I reset the mini Blinks and they won’t recognize the 8300 unless I unplug the router for 10 seconds. Then they may or may not recognize it, and when they do I enter the wifi password. Then they disconnect a few minutes later. Same with the older laptops. I have 2 laptops, 2 phones, and smart TV that have successfully connected without problems. Any idea’s why these camera’s and older laptops don’t connect. The problem started immediately after setting up the 8300. Hopefully this makes sense.

I have tried to setup using the old app and then the new one but it didn’t work. Now I want to try using web setup. 

I've had my gateway for over a year and just yesterday I was just watching Netflix and all of a sudden all my devices say can't connect to the internet. I've called cox and done multiple restarts and cable checks and everything checks good on there end but i still have the issues. They are sending a tech out tomorrow but I have to pay $75 🙄.  Any suggestions? 

I am no longer using this modem but want to use the wifi? I have connection to the router but not the ability to login into it and change wifi name and password. I performed factory reset and can login to the default wifi setting but can’t access 192.168.0.1. Tried surfboard app and I get no connectivity to wireless Gateway 

I set up my email and password on my Arris surfboard gateway and i can login via the 192.168.0.1 IP address but when i use the same email and password for the surfboard web manager it responds with incorrect credentials and won’t allow me to login. I don’t understand this as they are supposed to use the same login info. Why does the surfboard app not let me login?

I forgot the user name and password to my arris Surfboard SBG8300 and also the password for the cable modem manager. How can i recover them or reset them to the default?

I’ve had a lot of issues with my internet since I moved into my apartment. Finally someone at Comcast told me my modem was incompatible with my speed so I bought an SBH8300. I’m trying to set up the modem and the lights are constantly flashing. The internet light blue and the wifi light green. They were both solid green like the manual says they should be for just a second and then started flashing again.  I’ve tried contacting Xfinity but they’ve been useless and apparently arris doesn’t have a customer service line anyone can call. So I am here. Help me. 

Unable to login in with default admin username and password. Keep getting Invalid user name or password, or your access has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts! I can admit, i went in a changed the names and passwords for the network and saved changes before changing the admin login credentials. Also, the router came with 4 connection options (2 standard and 2 5G- one for home and guest each). However, the site only allowed ne the option to change two and the other two are still available with the default names and default password.  Any suggestions to access and manage my router through the admin portal?

Where can I obtain a new power adapter for a surfboard SBG 8300? also what is with comcast infinity   are we compatable or not?

Gateway is visible to Spectrum and moves data at a whopping 1Mbps!  That’s 1M, with an M.  Spectrum coming out tomorrow.  Any thoughts welcome. 

Is it possible to schedule the sbg8300 to turn off Wi-Fi or the modem at a certain time and restart at a certain time. 

i have the sbg 8300 and google  1 gig fiber internet. i have the modem set to ethernet mode where it doesnt use the coax cable for data input it uses one of the ethernet ports.  my speed is very slow like 56mbps down and 70 up. any ideas ?

SBG8300  was dropping internet a few times per day. Did a hard reset with button on back. Signed on to Surfboard access on web and it asked to set a new wifi password.I was able to setup all devices successfully and now it will not allow me to access the modem via web.admin password does not work, my old user and pass does not work and nor does the wifi password I setup work  with user admin or my old user name.How to I access ?

The router does not seem to fully connect to our internet. We have the very high gigs but that isn't coming across to our phones. Any suggestions?

When I plug my DVR for my security cameras into my modem by ethernet, It kills most of my wifi signal. How do i prevent this? 

I need to disable the wifi on my SBG8300 but I still want to be able to use all the ports.  How can I disable the wifi without having to put it in bridgemode?

I need to connect my Arris SBG8300. I don’t have a hard wired computer. they are all wireless. any ideas on how to do this 

I am trying to set up my Gateway and it says I have no internet connection. When I sign in as an admin, the WAN address is inactive. Does someone know how I can properly set up the internet part of my gateway? Thanks! 

I have changed nothing on my SBG8300 to have caused this problem.  For several years I have used this home modem to connect to my company VPN and then log into my company's factory firewalls to access their network(s).  I have been using the company issued Cisco AnyConnect VPN software.  For the past month, when working from home,  I am not able to access the firewalls and the browser reports that the address cannot be found.  On infrequent occasion I have connected to a firewall but there is no rhyme or reason for why it worked.  Restarting the modem does not help.  My internet provider (Xfinity) tech support remotely examined it and didn’t know what the problem was so she suggested I get a new one (LOL, she gave up).  I can access the firewalls using my cell phone hotspot or another location that provides internet, but not through my modem.  At one point today I tried disabling the modem internal firewall but that did not help.  When I re-enabled the modem firewall and restarted t

I am unable to connect the SBG8300 to the WOW network. I am connecting through the same coaxial port that my current WOW rented modem is connected to as I type this. While on the line with WOW, they said they could not find it via the HFC MAC. The lights on the modem were green and I do not have any splitters or anything complicated connected to this line. Has anyone encountered this or been able to get this router working with WOW? 

My ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 occasionally makes a whirring noise.  I've only had it for 7 months.  Should I be alarmed?  Thanks for any help.

Whe I test my network speed on my Surfboard app I can only see the upload and download speed from my device to the modem.  Why can't I see the speeds from my modem to my ISP?
