Why do my SBG8300 Cable Modem & Wi-Fi- Router keeps disconnecting from my internet???  

I set up my g54 for port forwarding but ports are still shown as closed on port checker. 

How do you change the upstream Diplex to mid-split. According to specs it is configurable.

I have a new S34 modem that I received from Amazon. I activated it on August 29th and have been using it since then. I had a disconnection just a little while ago (it did come back online right away after a manual restart) and I noticed that the exhaust from the top of the modem feels hot. I measured it with an IR thermometer and it is reading between 120F and 130F (49C to 54C). My room is 75F (24C).Are these temperatures normal for the S34?  

I just tried to activate my modem and Cox said they couldn’t because this model only goes up to 250 Mbps??? 

I switched my internet provider from Xfinity to Astound and my Arris cable modem S33 still shows Xfinity as my service provider

I need to replace the ac adapter for the sbg 8300, but the materials that came with the modem/router don’t say what the device’s rated voltage and current are. Seems like the ac adapter would need to be 12 volts and 2 amps, but I used an ac adapter with those specs with this device and that adapter got fried and stopped working. Is there more information I need to select the right adapter? Can someone please confirm the ac adapter and/or voltage and current specs for the sbg8300 so I can make sure to order the correct replacement? Looks like Arris doesn’t offer ac adapters, just uses third-party ones. I want to make sure it’s compatible and pricing and info for ac adapters is all over the place and inconsistent. Please help!

How can I login again after being locked out?

I know the SBG8300 is an older unit, but it has served me well for several years.It is powered via a large APC UPS so it is not connected directly to utility AC.I hard-wire (ethernet cable) my modem->desktop to maximize internet performance (Xfinity).Event: I was working online during a thunderstorm with LOTS of lightening. In a moment, my internet connection failed. I looked at my modem and it was DARK. My UPS was nominal and my desktop and other accessories were operating normally.I tried unplugging the Arris modem and waited 30 seconds to reboot. Immediately upon restoring power to the modem I noticed BOTH BLUE lights blink 5 times then the modem went dark again. I tired a hardware reset (small hole in back of unit) and received the same result. I tried unplugging then restoring power again and got the 5 blue blinks then dark again.An exhaustive search for this troubleshooting indication was fruitless.I suspect an electrical surge found its way up the COAX cable which fried the m

I have been trying to login to reset password.  Reset modem and tried the admin and password, still get error message that they are invalid.  What do I do now?  

I am trying to go in and change the my network name through the Surfboard Central app. Even though I have internet/wi-fi the app won’t let me change the network name. It says “Access to your Network is currently unavailable”. It then advises to do the onboarding to reonboard the gateway. The other option is try at a later time, connect to SURFBOARD network as the remote access is currently unavailable or power off and then on. I have tried the first and third option. What should I do? 

Pretty simple. I was setting up my 7600 surfboard, and it never prompted the activation sequence. So, I called Spectrum, and they informed me that they cannot activate it because it is not on their list of approved modems, routers, or modem + router combos. Please. If there are any website editors here for Arris. PLEASE REMOVE THE SPECTRUM COMPATIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE 7600 MODEL. It no longer works and I wasted nearly $200 on this piece of junk. If any officials read this, please contact me, this straight up is NOT okay.

My modem router connects to 2 different SSIDs: SB8300-BBB and SB8300-BB8? There something wrong with this model. Do I need to change it?

I would like to claim warranty on my Arris g36. Mines messed up and I did everything to fix it. The light is stuck on amber and I hit the reset button but it’s not doing anything.

I have a G 34 surfboard and I’m having major problems. The first one being it is saying that my Internet speed is lower than 100mbps. I have Dan several different speed test and they all come out the same. In addition to that I cannot get Wi-Fi connection on any of my devices like my printer and all my Apple products. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated thank you.

The web interface of my G54 is not loading devices so I’m not able to manage them. Any suggestions?

problem with internet connection. Multiple time reset.call multiple times to Xfinity  to fix. Technician has changed the cable and all connections. Finally   had to get rental which work fine.  Modem has problem and we replace or fix still warranty is good still October 2025 

Hello, I recently got a G34 because I was fed up with Spectrums equipment, It is more stable but the signal isn't that great, so I did some research and purchased the Arris Surfboard pods SBX-AC1200P and SBX-1000P. I can not for the life of me get to the configuration page for the pods, I can connect to the one pod that I have for the wifi, but I can not log into, nor can I figure out how to change the pod name it shows up on my network as SURFboard-4F0A. When I had the spectrum pods they just made the signal stronger, and did not create another network, I am not sure if this is possible with these but I can even log into the address it tells me to goto http://192.168.100.254, which just redirects me to my modem, so idk what to do, or is there a better wifi extender, I would had to get spectrums stuff back lol

My phone is listed on the connected device page three times. I've tried forgetting the network and it still shows up as connected multiple times. Any cause for this? 

Is there a more current model to the TG2472G ?  need a modem with one or two phone ports.with or w/o wifi. thanks!

I recently went on vacation and unplugged everything in the house before I left, WiFi modem included. As soon as I came home and plugged it back in, I have had nothing but issues. I only unplugged it from the electricity, not the cable. Prior to this, I have never had a problem. It shows that I am connected to my network, however it’s not working. I have Spectrum internet (the only option I have) and the issues are not coming from a lack of connection. There are no service outages. The third light on the modem is often off, which I’m sure is the issue, however I don’t know how to fix that. My warranty is up and I can’t call Arris for help without paying a ridiculous amount of money. I can’t even connect to the app to troubleshoot from there.   I had a refurbished Arris product that did the same thing and was resolved when I bought a new product. Is that really what I have to do? Upgrade to a newer model?  Help!

The User ID & PW I set some years ago for my S33 Modom don't work anymore, so how can I recover and/or reset again from factory? Will this affect my registration with my cable company if I safely reset using reset button? Thanks.

I just bought an Arris G34 cable modem, but my internet plan is only up to 300 mps.  Can I still use this modem or is it not compatible with my internet speed/plan?
