I worked with service provider to get the new modem registered but it isn't coming up when I search for available networks. I have Internet as it is working with the Ethernet cable. How do I get the new modem to show up in my available networks?

Hi everyone, Is there a way I can change the Security on my Arris Modem from WPA 2 to WPA 3?  I already did it on the TP link Wifi router.   I’m not even sure if I can do it on the Arris modem.

I installed an Arris G-20. After about a week it started cycling through reboots to connect.  It won’t stay connected.  Xfinity says the device is faulty.

I know this question has been asked here many times but they all say the same thing and it’s not working for me. I have a  SBG7600AC2. I use all four ethernet ports. Recently they all turned off. No signal, no lights, I tried different cables. I tried mixing and matching the cables and the devices. I went in to the web interface and disabled and enabled the ports. I tried doing the factory reset of the device and that didn’t work either. Today I went in to the Status page and even though the web interface states the 4 LAN ports are all enabled, the status page list them all as being disabled.  What next other than buying a whole new device?  LAN Port 1 Disabled Down -----   LAN Port 2 Disabled Down -----   LAN Port 3 Disabled Down -----   LAN Port 4 Disabled Down -----

My modem is going slower than the speeds I paid for (90mbps down and 20 up instead of 1000 down and 40 up). From an AI search it probably needs a firmware update and is not being configured to make use of all the lanes available (my oversimplified version). Spectrum support seems to not know that they are responsible for updating the firmware. I’ve talked to 3-4 people via support and some said it’s not up to them and others said it would be done automatically. Is there anything else I can do on my end? I’m not a normal user and need the speeds for my small business.  

Surfboard SBG10 turned off while I was working and won't turn back on. Outlet is working. unplugged for 1 min.

I have a brand new S34 modem and am using Xfinity 1.2 gig service. I have never seen download speeds over ~450 - 500mbps and have asked Xfinity support for help. They tried a few things, but the speeds still remain the same.Of course they said to bypass the router (Asus RT-AX88U) and plug directly into the modem which I did, but then the speeds drop down to ~90mbps both up and down! Going back to the router, they jump back up to ~500mbps. I would expect the exact opposite to happen. I am using Ookla speed test site both times. Can anyone offer some advice?  Thanks! 

I’ve unplugged and replugged the power cord to try and get the WiFi to work but that did nothing. I did a factory reset and don’t know what to do now.

Hi my company now wants everyone on video for teams calls which can sometimes be 30+ people.My internet is struggling with this many videos feeds. Is there a quality of service setting for the G18 device so I can prioritize teams over other apps?Or do you recommend a different device? Please help! Thanks!

I bought SURFboard s33v3 cable modem in June this year (2025). Initially was able to use port 2.5 GE connecting to Google mesh WIFI router and then from the ethernet port on the Google mesh to the 24-ports switch. All my computers and a few devices access internet with ethernet cables. Everything was working as expected for 2 months. One day suddenly internet dropped, I had to power off and power on the cable modem because port 2.5 GE was constantly flashing in yellow color. I have to switch to port 1 GE, it stays with solid green light. BUT everything slowing down now. The internet connecting through ethernet is very slow, 100MBS and takes long time to switch to a new web page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My SB8200 does not work.  All lights are flashing rapidly.  I tried a different power supply, outlet, coax cable, and resetting it with no luck.  I think it’s dead.  It should still be under warranty, but I cannot find the serial number on the website.  Please help.

Is there a firmware update for the G36 using Spectrum as the ISP?  Most topics on this seem to be 2+ years old.

Hello, My Arris SB8200 modem no longer powers on (no lights, even with a known working outlet and power adapter), so I believe it has failed. I am looking to request a warranty replacement. However, when trying to verify the warranty for my modem with the online warranty tool, it says it cannot locate my serial number. The modem was purchased less than 2 years ago from Amazon. I can provide the serial number and order details upon request.

the Arris modem that comes with my AT&T Fiber will not properly handle port forwarding - at least not how I need it to work, so I was wondering if any Arris retail products might be compatible and yet have a more robust interface.Specifically I want traditional port forwarding that allows me to configuresource port (or range) |  destination IP | destination Port. NOT the “at&t way” where you configure the source port and then pick the destination from a list of names on the “gaming” panel.Would any Arris retail products have this capability?

I recently returned an item that was under warranty, for an exchange of a new item. I chose the option that would have Arris ship the item immediately, and they would put a credit hold on my card while they awaited shipment of the defective item.  I returned the defective item immediately, and have shipping confirmation from UPS that it was delivered to their returns address. The delivery of the return took place well before the held charge would go through on my card, and yet I was still charged for this. I am unable to activate live chat for some reason, and the phone service is currently after hours. Has anyone else experienced this and/or how was could this be resolved? 

The model I am using is the Arris Surfboard S34. I have both a desktop computer and a WiFi router. I want to connect the router into the 2.5 Gig port and the computer into the 1 Gig port. However, it appears that only one or the other works. If I have the computer plugged into the 1 Gig port, the router does not connect to the internet. If I have the router connected to the 2.5 Gig port, then the computer does not connect. How can I solve the issue so that both can connect? 

I'm replacing my Xfinity modem with an S33. I can get my Deco Tp link wifi to work but ethernet ports from my devices do not see the internet. When I get the ethernet ports to work the deco tp link will not work? Im running my house throught a 24 port patch panel into a 24 port unmanaged netgear switch. However when I go back to the modem from xfinity I can get both to work with no issue.  Any help would be appreciated.  

I have a new SB8200 that I connected to Spectrum. When I connect my PC to the ethernet port I have access to the internet, but I cannot connect my router to the second port. When I do it does not indicate internet access. If I remove the PC and reboot the modem then the router gets access to the internet but as soon as I plug in the PC the PC can’t get access.What am I doing wrong?

I’m trying to connect our G18 router/modem to our Spectrum service. Everything is plugged in, solid blue light is on. But when we go to connect to the Wi-Fi there are 40+ different wifi names called “wave_(1-40+)”. The Wi-Fi works once connected to one of the names but how can we make it just one and get it password protected? 

This is going to seem naive for a small house but I had arris (SBG7600AC2) router/modem combo that encompassed the house but would start dropping connection (or it was comcast) and every time it did it pissed off all the echos and other smart devices in the house. So I purchased an overkill 54G which drops less but while the signal is good enough, there is too much “noise” to make some of my downstairs echos happy for multi speaker spottily. I started to hook up a ax1800 tp-link…. mostly because the wu6 has terrible reviews for the price. I mostly wanted to know if im wasting my time before I start drilling into my ceiling and getting a POE device if its possible. I dont see any walk thoroughs that use combo devices as first modem device. 

My connection randomly keeps shutting off. I use a w21 arris modem with a surfboard model sb8200. I have tried hard resetting it, unplugging both for 5-10 minutes, I have tried moving the router around the house. To no avail. It used to work great, now we can hardly stay on the internet for more than 5 minutes at a time. Is there any solution to this?

i’m getting an error that says (title) and I have 25 devices already added.is 25 the cap? (i doubt it) anyway, I’d appreciate some assistance. thanks. 

I’ve setup my W161 mesh. I’d also like to add another satellite for a set up of 1 main router and 2 satellite routers, after numerous set up tries the satellite to be added continuous to reflects a pink light. So, what are the steps to take to change the operation mode of my W161 to Access Point Mode?
