surfboard login web will not accept password and unable to set up the SBC app on G36

The app wouldn't connect to my G36, kept getting 0000-1614 error code.  So I logged into the web interface.  After updating my password, it asked me to log in again.  Fine no problems, BUT it won't accept my password!  Now I have no way to log into my router/modem.  It keeps telling me to use the email address I used for the app.  Did but it still will not acknowledge my password.  I've reset the modem so many times is sad.  I'm fed up!  How do I get my password to work on the website since the app won't work?

App prompts to factory reset G36

I have set up my G36 via the web browser.  When I try to log in to the router from the Mobile app (on the same network) it prompts to do a factory reset on the router.  I have tried the app on two different mobile devices on the network and they both prompt for factory reset.  I have no problem accessing the router via a web browser.

How come there is No username or password sticker for my Arris VIP5602WT?

There is No username or password sticker for my Arris VIP5602WT? I can’t login the 192.168.1.254 webpage. What can I do? The default Username is likely ‘admin,’ but the default Password is not ‘admin’ and it’s not ‘password.’ What might it be? Or how can I go about finding the password? Can I change the password without the original default password. Probably not eh. What should I do?

Wi-Fi Calling not working with SBG7400AC2

I cannot get Wi-Fi calling to work with the SBG7400AC2. I have Vyve cable internet and Verizon cell service. This modem is new, and I had the same problem on the previous Surfboard that we were renting from the ISP. Also, I had this problem on my older phone (Galaxy S8+) and thought it was because the phone was so old, but same thing is happening on the new phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra).I initially set the modem up using the Surfboard Central app and just accepted defaults. I did just login to the web interface to see if anything was blocked on the firewall. A Google search suggested enabling IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and VPN Service for a Netgear router. Under Firewall settings, IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP pass-through are enabled. I can't find anything related to a VPN, and I can't imagine that would be the issue.This would be merely a nuisance, except often I'll miss calls and cannot send or receive texts when the phone has decided to try and use Wi-Fi calling. The workaround once I've realized it is

S33 Updates with Xfinity

Good morning, I have a ARRIS - SURFboard S33 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Multi-Gig Cable Modem. (Purchased Oct 2021) I switched to an Xfinity modem for a while due to a sales pitch.  I tried all day yesterday to get my S33 back online.  The reps at Xfinity kept telling me that there was an outage in my area. It wasnt an outage, my S33 apparently had some files that needed to be updated in the modem.  I spent 5 hours in chat mode with Xfinity and 5 reps. Xfinity indicated that the files were updated to teh S33.  How do I know for sure?  Is there a way to test it beyond connecting and activating the unit through Xfinity again.  What other options are possible to test the speed and operation of the modem?  I prefer not to go through that again.  Thank you all

error code 0000-1612 on Surfboard Central

Registered new G34 modem/router via Sufboard central. Worked fine. once I change SSID names, default passwords and make other customized network settings, the app no longer sees my device. I deleted the device and attempted to add it again. Went through fine and connected to new SSID. Then on the final step, a vague Error Code 0000-1612. only way to proceed is to factory reset the device which I won’t do again.

SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 with AC2350 Setup

Hello!I’m considering buying an Arris SBG8300 with built-in AC2350 WiFi Router and ditching my Xfinity Gateway.  However, I do not have a PC or a Mac. Would I be able to setup the unit using the iPhone Surfboard app or my Chromebook?  Also for clarity, I intend to use the unit primarily for household WiFi (no cable TV) and occasionally use Ethernet when using my PS4.

Xfinity Bricked My SB8200

First post, hope I’m putting this in the right place.TLDR: Xfinity activation bricked a previously activated SB8200, and their tech support told me to contact Arris for a "configuration file".****I've used a self-owned SB8200 with my Xfinity plan for 3 years, but after upgrading to the gigabit plan, Xfinity began sending me email notices that my equipment isn't capable of fully utilizing my plan.So, I bought a recommended Arris S33, swapped out the SB8200, and had the S33  activated and running in minutes. I put the SB8200 back in a box for storage, feeling it would be handy to keep around if the S33 failed in the future.Although the S33 performs just as well, if not better, it is much hotter than the SB8200. So much so, that I decided to return it to Amazon and reinstall the SB8200. (I don't like hot electronics, but that's just me....)BIG MISTAKE.....Upon swapping the S33 out for the old SB8200, I found that Xfinity's system wasn't providing any internet service (even though the fron

Exchanging Arris TM822 for SB6190 - Set up

Hi. I’ve spoken with Optimum, and the SB6190 is supported by their service.  Before I get started disconnecting the TM822 and connecting the new SB6190, would be great to get some input from experienced people here.  I have a Linksys EA7400 wireless router connected and working presently, I’m hoping that it won’t be an issue to connect to the new SB6190.Possibly any videos which might help if/when running into any issues?Thanks very much.

SB8200v3 Only Connects to PC after xFinity outage

Have had my SB8200 connected to xFinity cable service for over a year with no issues.  2 days ago we experienced a 4 hour xFinity outage, after which my PC is the only device that the modem will connect to the internet with. My mesh WiFi system won’t connect to the internet, nor any other ethernet devices such as my Apple TV.  I have rebooted the modem several times and eventually did a factory reset and registered it again with xFinity.  Speedtest on my PC gives me 590 mps download, paying for 500.  The problem persists. Does anyone have an idea of why my PC is the only device it will connect to the internet with?  Any suggestions on correcting this issue?  Much appreciated.rvhughes1

What is the latest firmware update for SBG6782-ac?

I understand my ISP should update my firmware on my Sbg6782-ac.   I am curious as to how current my firmware is.My firmware currently is SBG6x82-8.6.0.0-GA-08-046-NOSH.  If current, just how old is it? 6 months or years ago?I dont seem to be getting the speeds I should be getting and get a lot of stops and starts.   I know I have had this modem for a long time…maybe I wore it out…

TM822 no internet

My Nighthawk router is reset, all the lights are solid. Now my Arris modem TM822, the power light is solid green but the DS light is flashing orange, and the rest are faintly flashing. Please help! I have reset it fully and reset my router. There is nothing wrong with the router.

Arris SBG10 DHCP server not working

All Ethernet connections to my combo modem/router (Arris SBG10) are not working. I have tried multiple computers with multiple cables. The Wi-Fi works fine. Resetting the modem/router through my ISP (Xfinity) didn't help nor did factory resetting the modem/router. All computers I connect with an Ethernet cable have a 169.254.x.x IPv4 address, suggesting the DHCP server is not working. When diagnosing the connection on a Windows 11 device, there is a "No DHCP server was found" error. However, when I login to my modem settings (192.168.0.1), the modem has DHCP enabled on both WAN and LAN.How can I fix my Ethernet? Is the problem the SBG10? Or is the problem Xfinity?

Arris SB8200 power on failure

Purchased April 2023 so 16/17 months old and total failure while not home….it was plugged into a surge protector and no other devices in the home were damaged so I don’t think it was from a  power surge…..no lights on the arris  and have done all the smart things that arris would say….is the power cable inserted? Yes…did you try it from another outlet? YesWill arris cover this under warranty or is it just that this was a bit of a lemon and most arris’s would last much longer?l did swap out an old Motorola modem that still works so wasn’t dead in the water (after  coordinating with ISP)I do want to have another spare on hand wondering if I should avoid arris or not

Hi. We’ve had the Arris TM822 modem for a few years now.  Optimum is the provider.  Recently the Link light is not solid, it’s now blinking green.  Would someone know if there’s an issue with the modem or the signal?  Thanks.

G54 5GHz networks can't be detected.

I set up a G54 modem in my home in November, and configured my wifi networks using Split Mode. I had most of the devices connecting to the 5GHz network perfectly fine for a while. They were routinely getting speeds in the 400-500Mbps range. Then suddenly a couple weeks ago none of the wireless devices in my home were able to detect any of the networks except for the 2.4GHz one, and they were only getting speeds of ~50Mbps. According to the modem’s Admin GUI the 5GHz radio, 5GHz High radio, and 6GHz radio are all enabled and active. I tried a factory reset and turned Split Mode back on. Once again, my wifi devices could only detect the 2.4GHz network. I then disabled Split Mode and enabled Band Steering, hoping that they would get automatically directed to the faster band. But the Connected Devices page showed everything connected on the 2.4GHz band, and speed tests showed I was only getting ~50Mbps on that band. I tried enabling the Guest Network with the same results. I have a desktop

S33 Intermittent Dropouts

How can I get a longer timeframe of Event Logs on my S33v2? Have been having intermittent dropouts. I believe this is a cable supplier (Spectrum) problem vs. Arris. However, I would like to set up a computer on the modem via internet port to log various elements over a longer period of time. How can I do this vs. the somewhat short period of time the Arris logs events.If it turns out this is the Arris modem how can I get a warranty replacement? I do not have a backup modem so would need to continue to use this one until a warranty replacement is sent to me and then I would send to Arris.
