SVG2482AC

I just purchased a SVG2482AC (new from Best Buy) to replace an owned TG862G since I upgraded my Xfinity plan to 500 Mbps. I’ve scanned all of the community questions, but I don’t see the answer. I followed the setup instructions but in #6, to open a web browser and enter xfinity.com/activate.  I’m using Chrome on a MacBook Pro with MacOS Monterey 12.7.4.  The website said I had to use my mobile app to activate.  So I attempted to activate from my iPhone but it couldn’t activate and sent me to a customer service person who entered my CMAC # and activated my gateway. The Power, US/DS, and Online lights are solid white.  The 2.4 and 5 GHz lights are mostly solid but occasionally flicker.  He said his system recognizes the CMAC # and it corresponds to the model type - but wasn’t able to see a response. I have a Ethernet cable indicating Green Connected.  The WiFi is green connected.  I’m able to connect to the Arris Web Manager using the admin and passcode - was abl

I've been tryin to update my firmware on svg2482ac  but I can't find it

I purchased SVG2482AC today. Activated it through my internet provider, set up the network name and password. My laptop connects fine, my cell phone has WiFi, but my TV says it can't find my network….  and for the Catagory question, I don't see anything pertains to the ARRIS SURFboard that I have…  just picking the first option...

I am trying to login to my Surboard SVG2482AC but can’t.  I can see my router and all of the connected devices when I go to http://10.0.0.1/ but I can’t login. I am using “admin” as the username and for the password I have tried “password,” the password printed on the surfboard, and the password I use for connecting devices to the router.  None of them work.  It is very possible that I changed the default password at setup but I do not have a record of it.  How can I find/retrieve my login credentials?

trying to activate a smart plug but can only activate in 2.4ghz mode - how do i do that on an SVG2482AC

I tried restarting couple of times but although I’m able to connect it says no internet connection. Could anyone help? 

Hello I just set up my modem, is there a way to delete devices under the my devices tab? I can’t seem to find anything and I’m not sure what device is connected.

I can only find one Mac I’d number, but the Xfinity guy said there should be two. Anyone know why or where it is located?

Hii was called by xfinity team and they said that i have issues with my firewall and since i not using xfinity modem thats why i cant access their admin tool using 10.0.0.1 in this matter i need to contact my Original Equipment manufacturer for this issue and gave your 

Am unable to get Ring Stick Up Camera online.  Setup was “successful” but camera is offline.  Extensive testing with Ring Technical Support failed to resolve the issue or diagnose the cause.  All other devices work perfectly. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how it can be fixed? Thanks in advance.

I am using the quick start guide that came with my product. I have completed step 1-4. I did have to use my cell phone because I don’t have a laptop. It says in step 5 that the lights will go solid white after us/ds and online stop blinking.  first my online has never started blinking and it never goes solid.

This modem is expensive and has very few configurations it can be set to. I know it can be set to “bridged only” That is not my question. My question is, How can it be set to “router only mode”? Is there firmware available that can assist me in setting up to router mode?

With a previous Arris modem I had a shared network drive plugged in to Ethernet 1 that everyone could access. How do I set that up for the SVG2482AC router..?  Am being told it can't be done, but a shared network drive is what a LAN/router setup should do..…out of the box. ????Many thanks..! 

How do I enable use of the two usb ports for file sharing?I see no option for it in the web interface.

Keep getting an incorrect error message trying to connect new Samsung phone. Was able to connect a new tablet. All other devices are connected. Comcast and Samsung were no help. Any suggestions?

Why do my phone calls drop after 10-15 minutes on my svg2482ac modem for xfinity

As of this week (9/18/23) my SVG2482AC is crashing on Xfinity multiple times daily. Comcast support told me that due to the well know (new to me) issues with the “PUMA 6” chipset it is now not supported, in fact, INCOMPATIBLE, with the Xfinity network. But check out this ad:https://www.arrismodem.com/svg2482ac/It clearly states for use with Xfinity! Do I get a refund or at least a credit from Arris for this? They are/were clearly “DUMPING” these guys with a defective chipset.What do you know about this? Thanks.

I’m using a SVG2842 phone enabled Arris modem/router. My IP address page looks different from some others who have shared screen shots of where they found their system and event logs. Mine is a different website. When I go to the logs page, it produces no logs. I’ve tried over several days. Screenshot here with greyed out logs circled in black. When I hit the show logs button, it has a dialogue box that says this will take a minute and then produces nothing. I need these to show Xfinity. I’m one of the unfortunately folks who lost internet access this week because my Arris surfboard keeps rebooting (never loses power). It doesn’t stay on for even an hour. Yet I have no logs to show.     

On Surfboard SVG282AC the wifi speed next to the device is less than 70mb - speed at PC via ethernet is over 300. So it's not a Comcast issue. Anyone know if there are new settings in firmware I should try?

How do I reset password don't remember current one 

I would like to block a desktop computer in my home from accessing the internet.  I go to Parental controls to block a specific device, but even though the name of the computer shows, the MAC address is different from what it should be.  I click on the computer anyway, block it from access, but it still has access.  In fact, I tried blocking a different desktop computer, with the correct name and MAC address showing under parental controls, and it wasn’t blocked either.  This seems like it should be a very easy thing to do.  What could be going wrong?
