G34 | G36

The 5g network for data switches to 4g once inside my house. 5g works outside and in other buildings. It stays 4g even with the wireless connection turned off.

Please help me activate my new G34

I connected my eufy doorbell camera with chime, everything works well except the liveview. I can view recorded videos but cannot do a liveview. I followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested by eufy tech support and followed the recommendation on here to change the security with no success. Any other ideas?

I bought a new G36.  My TV is connected to it using a CAT5 Ethernet cable.  I can not cast to the television from other devices on WiFi.  I can't cast from a device on WiFi to a device connected via ethernet.  Phone, tablet, desktop, none of them find my TV to cast to if it is connected using erhernet.  If I unplug the eithernet cable, connect my TV to WiFi, I can then find the TV and connect.  This wasn't an issue with my previous Arris surfboard.  I can not find a setting that helps.  UPnP is enabled.  I also tried changing the firewall setting from medium to low.  That did not work either. How can I fix this?   It's not just my TV either.  My cable/TiVo device also has Android TV, it is also connected via Ethernet, and it is not available to connect to either.

My Arris G34 cable modem and router combo loses Wi-Fi connection several times a day ! I have to unplug and plug back in! It works better if I have a fan on it! What is going on?

Greetings! I followed the recommendation for a Surfboard for our smart thermostat (see link).The thermostat disconnects and reconnects during the day. Even when connected, the connection to the company’s server is lost. Yesterday, the HVAC tech said it’s because the two bands do not run parallel but occasionally intersect. The thermostat doesn’t know what to do since it requires 2.4, so it disconnects. He suggested contacting ARRIS to see if the router can be programmed for parallel signals. Any ideas? Thank you! 

I can no longer login as admin with the correct password. I kept getting “Please Login First” prompt after logging in. If I entered a wrong password, I received invalid credential error message. I hesitate to reset the hardware because it would mean I would spend eternity to connect all the devices that connected to the network.

Why has Arris not responded to the problem of G34 login in endless loop?I have tried multiple times to use the admin/password - and it keeps giving me msg ‘login first’ have double checked password - and its correct - not getting msg - invalid credentials  Fix the dam software and send us the update!

Hi, we have not had a connection for 1.5 days. I have reset, plugged everything back in, and confirmed with Comcast that there are no issues on their end. I have a solid blue light on the G34. It is hardwired to my desktop computer, but I cannot connect to GUI web portal when I try. Any ideas? This is only a few months old and we have had ongoing issues.

I am using a program for internet phone calls, Cisco Jabber, for my work computer and during calls no one can hear me. They are able to hear me through the program Teams, but not Jabber. Do you have any suggestions why changing a modem would make calls not work. (prior modem from Mediacom worked fine)

How do I change my modem password?

I’m trying to setup a Netgear wifi range extender to use with my Arris G34 moden/router and I can’t get the Netgear to recognize the router. I had an older Arris before and had no problem setting up the extender.  I called netgear and they said I’d have to log into my router account for them to continue to troubleshoot. Every time I tried to do that I got a message that it was not a secure website and I was not able to go any further. What should I try now?

Woke up and had no wifi. Checked with ISP and there are no outages. Reset my router and now it only shows up under G34 and a string of numbers but still has our same password. When I pull it up in the surfboard app it still has the original name. I can log intoo our wifi under the g34 name on my phone but no network show up under the original name. I really don’t want to reprogram every device in my house to connect to this new random name. What’s going on and how do I fix it?

I have the G34 and We are having huge loss of speed over wifi. This has been an ongoing issue since we got the equipment and it is getting worse, not better. ( and of course, the warranty ended in Jan)I had the internet prover ( cox  cable) come out and check for issues, but they  did not find anything on their side. The speed coming in to the modem/ router is 1g, but the speeds I get on wifi even standing right next to the router is 45 download and 36 upload. Is there anything I can do to trouble shoot and get the speed increased for wifi?( I am not a tech person at all, so instructions in  simple step by step terms would be greatly appreciated 🙂 )

I have the G36 and my 2.5GB will not even come close to 2GB with Ethernet. I have all Cat6a cabling and switch that can handle up to 2.5GB also. When I am plugged in with my Ethernet and do a speed test I only get 359Mpbs. How can I fix this as I do not want to change out my modem again. 

Hi purchase an Arris G36 yesterday.  We are having difficulties with internet connection and I want to change the name of our WiFi and the password.

When I try to log into the modem management website, using any viewer I get a message similar to this: “Supported Browsers VersionsThe version of Mozilla Firefox you are using is unsupported. Your Gateway's web interface has been tested to work with the minimum version: 63.0.3.” This is severely out-of-date, since the current version of Firefox is 125.0.1.  That’s problem #1. The main problem is that it’s telling me my login credentials are incorrect… but giving me no clue how to fix that.  It doesn’t offer the ability to change my password, doesn’t offer email verification, offers no help at all.  After several attempts using different passwords (I have about 3 “registered

The surfboard app is only showing 2 devices on my network which is not correct. App appears not to update or show/display any correct information making it essentially useless.  Also experiencing connection issues including devices randomly disconnecting from the network then not able to locate G34 to connect.  extremely frustrating and poor customer experience at this point. 

I have the Surfboard Central app on my phone and I listed all my kids devices by name and type and put them under User Profiles for Parental Controls. Then I turned them all on but the children’s devices are still synced with the internet. (The toggle button indicates that parental control is enabled). How can I solve this issue so the parental control actually works? I only bought my modem in June 2023, so it shouldn’t be too old to function properly when it comes with a 2 year warranty.

I am trying to go in and change the my network name through the Surfboard Central app. Even though I have internet/wi-fi the app won’t let me change the network name. It says “Access to your Network is currently unavailable”. It then advises to do the onboarding to reonboard the gateway. The other option is try at a later time, connect to SURFBOARD network as the remote access is currently unavailable or power off and then on. I have tried the first and third option. What should I do? 

I would like to claim warranty on my Arris g36. Mines messed up and I did everything to fix it. The light is stuck on amber and I hit the reset button but it’s not doing anything.

I have a G 34 surfboard and I’m having major problems. The first one being it is saying that my Internet speed is lower than 100mbps. I have Dan several different speed test and they all come out the same. In addition to that I cannot get Wi-Fi connection on any of my devices like my printer and all my Apple products. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated thank you.

problem with internet connection. Multiple time reset.call multiple times to Xfinity  to fix. Technician has changed the cable and all connections. Finally   had to get rental which work fine.  Modem has problem and we replace or fix still warranty is good still October 2025 

Hello, I recently got a G34 because I was fed up with Spectrums equipment, It is more stable but the signal isn't that great, so I did some research and purchased the Arris Surfboard pods SBX-AC1200P and SBX-1000P. I can not for the life of me get to the configuration page for the pods, I can connect to the one pod that I have for the wifi, but I can not log into, nor can I figure out how to change the pod name it shows up on my network as SURFboard-4F0A. When I had the spectrum pods they just made the signal stronger, and did not create another network, I am not sure if this is possible with these but I can even log into the address it tells me to goto http://192.168.100.254, which just redirects me to my modem, so idk what to do, or is there a better wifi extender, I would had to get spectrums stuff back lol
