I am replacing Optimum-rented Docsis modem with a G36 and a W6U extender for WiFi 6E. I see multiple Arris Apps, all getting terrible reviews, but primarily would like to know which app or apps I need to set up these devices.

Does my Motorola surfboard cable modem model sbg6782-ac have a wireless repeater mode? I live in an apartment with wifi furnished free, but the password protection is weak. I’m hoping in repeater mode I can set up my modem to have stronger protection when accessing the internet. S/N (edit private information), HFC MAC (edit private information) Gateway Mgmt MAC (edit private information)

I’d like to know if there is a way to check for firmware updates on this modem. I have not seen any way to do this via my CMG (configuration manager). The problem is the modem is regularly rebooting itself automatically. I do unplug the modem every night after I am through using it.

I have a svg2482ac bought it from ebay (seller was rude afterwards) and after getting Comcast to hook it up and get it activated is when the fun started. Downloaded the android app for it and all but then I went to connect my cell to it and it didn't even show the same name as the modem. It showed something like moto**-5g (don't remember all of it) so I try to put in the 5g password and it said wrong password so fir the next 2 1/2 hours I try everything I can think of reset modem, try and chat with ARRIS try and find the code to scan and it don't even have a thing to scan. The seller won't take it back and ebay is worthless so I'm out money for someone else's problem. Don't buy from Hannu-cod unless you like to get the shaft. I am.open for any and all help.

My new SBV3202 was recently activated and data works. Voice on new modem has never worked (the Voice Line LEDs on modem do not turn on) and no dial tone from either Tel port. I have done Modem Resets, and used the Xfinity ‘Activate Voice’ page. My telephone works fine - same one used with previous (netgear) voice modem. Talking with Xfinity is such a pain… thot maybe there was a modem setting I should try first? Thanks.

I have a Netgear modem connecting to Xfinity. I have a new SBV3202 that I want to replace the Netgear with. Per instruction from Xfinity, I installed their app on my phone….and assume it would allow me to ‘activate’ the SBV3202 after I swap out the Netgear. However, I am in a ‘dead’ cell service area….phone only works thru wifi. Can I activate the SBV3202 without the xfinity app?

The internet on our computers has gotten much slower that Xfinity says it should be. Xfinity is blaming the modem (a 4-year-old SURFboard). There may be something to that as my phone says the speed is 300 to 400, but one computer consistently usually says around 90Mbps (sometimes 50). The other computer never gets above 30Mbps. The computers are hard wired through a switch. The switch also connects 2 smart TVs and 2 Roku devices. If it means anything Netflix can be a little slow to open, but we’ve never had issues with lags while viewing.

Hello I just bought a sbg6700-ac brand new I did not realize ot was so outdated is there any way to update it or update the firmware is super slow and I'm paying for much higher speeds thanks.

I have the S33 and Archer Gx90 router, when I type the default IP. 192.168.100.1. It times out so I cannot log into the modem to check status... If I unhook the router its works fine..... I just dont want the annoying process. Thanks

I guess my previous question/conversation was closed so I’ll reopen another one with more input (i am getting DMs from people asking me if this solved, it isn’t). Does any official person from Arris actually follows the messages or is this just the community? this was a reply to someone who DM’d me: I have NOT found a resolution to this. I want it to work, especially since I'm past the return date. I have not reset to factory yet, because a simple reset/reboot of the router seems to fix it. I had one stretch where it went 13 days without needing a reboot, but since that time it's back to reboot every 2-4 days. I'm not a network engineer, but I still feel that this is an Arris issue, not Xfinity. The G36 should be able to autocorrect itself, due to poor line conditions but doesn't. Obviously I have no proof other than, when my system needs a reboot, I can sometimes get into the GUI and validate that the signal strengths are within limits (according to their documentation which is a reco

This is my 2nd of these modem/router. Having same problem as the first one. If I connect with Ethernet cable I get 1000mbps, if I use WiFi I get 55. Same issue I had with the first one that they said was defective. Reset a few times, talked to support which is very frustrating and still nothing. 5G doesn't even show up as a option to connect to but I can connect to 2.4 but only get 54mbps

I have recently upgraded an 8 year old cable modem to an Arris G36. This has resulted in greatly increased download speeds which is great. But I have an issue I can’t resolve. I have many wired Ethernet devices on my home network. When these devices have been inactive for some time, maybe a few hours or overnight, they report as no longer connected to the Internet. It’s like the G36 has shut down those ports to save power. If I unplug then re-plug in the Ethernet cable, the connection is properly restored. But this isn’t a long term solution. Is there a setting somewhere to leave the Ethernet ports always on? Thank you,Alan RovnerVancouver, Wash.

I have a Brother MFC-L2740DW printer. I used to have a Netgear 6250 router. I was able to wirelessly print from my iPad or Android phone. Both devices were always on the 5ghz band. I recently upgraded my router to an Arris G34, because my Xfinity speed has increased. Now I am unable to wirelessly print, if my iPad or Android phone is on the 5ghz band. I have to switch my mobile device to the 2.4ghz band first in order to print wirelessly. Even though the Brother printer is only on the 2.4ghz band, somehow my old Netgear 6250 router was able to route the information from my mobile device on the 5ghz band to the printer. i am not sure why the newer and better Arris G34 router can’t do this. Is there any way to be on the 5ghz band and wirelessly print?

Are any software updates ever created for my Wi-Fi cable modem/router ARRIS SBG8300? How often should I replace my router/cable modem for security sake? The model I am using now I purchased in 2020 would it be out of date?

Hi everyone! I’m considering upgrading my modem/router with an Arris product. I was wondering if it was possible to purchase an extended warranty so I can be covered in case of an issue beyond the first year. If so, how much does it cost?

Just swapped out my old Netgear C7000v2 to a new Arris G34. I have an Optimum 1,000 mbps line (Sadly not fiber optic) that supports both DOCSIS 3.1 and wifi 6. On setup my new Modem light sequence is amber at first, then when trying to connect to the ISP it is flashing blue which means it is looked for a DOCSIS 3.1 connection. It apparently fails to connect so then starts a flashing green light and connects to DOCSIS 3.0 Any ideas on how to get it to connect to DOCSIS 3.1 I’ve tried both resetting and rebooting.

What does it mean when all the icon lights (Power, Receive, send, online) are a solid yellow, but I’m still connected to the internet? I have a 400 Mbps plan and the is no drop in speed. Thanks,

I reset modem once again. Put the PW I want to use. Now AGAIN just like with all my modems I cannot get past the PW to get into modem. The guy on phone at Arris said I could. But User ID was the same Admin. Its something I must be missing can anyone help! I did reset to factory settings two times still no joy! All devices work with password but cannot get into modem past the password and locks me out for 5 minutes! I have been trying and trying to log into my Arris Modem and Router. I have reset both numerous times and still get invalid user id password error message. Like the performance of the Arris modem and router, but it has been true disappointing pain trying to log into the modem and router to change default username & password for more security. I would also look at other settings, etc. Looking at others questions and comment this must be a pain for many users! I have used Netgear products in the past and never had issues like this logging into the router, etc. Arris you should be better than this!

Hello everyone! Have been looking all over the internet and I can’t find an answer. My modem’s power supply stopped working today after almost one year of usage so I know it’s not age related. used my multimeter and it was reading 5V so I knew my power supply failed. I got a new AC universal adapter with the required 12V A1.3 and nothing. No power whats so ever. I checked on every outlet. Found a random backup power supply with the 12V A1.0 and still nothing!! I’m losing my mind I can’t afford to buy a new one. Please let me know if y’all have any similar stories or solutions thank you!!

Will the G36 allow the 2.5GB port to be connected to a PC and one of the four 1.0GB ports connected to a mesh system, switch, etc.? On older Arris modems such as the S33 you cannot use the 2.5GB port and the 1.0GB port simultaneously. Is the G36 different since it has 4 1.0GB ports.

When my Roku TV is connected to WiFi I can screen mirrior my iPhone. If I connect it via LAN (preferred) it does not work. Had the same problem with POE devices in the house. They would not connect without rebooting which forced me to go on wifi. Tried to play with some firewall settings but unsure what could be causing this. Xfinity Gig internet. Thanks for the help.
