When it reboots it will say “Please wait while your Wi-Fi is initializing...”. This initialization can take 30 minutes or more. This will happen several times a day. I have resorted to occasionally doing a paper clip reset. Sometimes I cannot do this because I’m in a remote location.

I already activated a T25 with Xfinity and is working well so far. I want to update to any available firmware version, but can’t add this model to Surfboard Central app, as I did with my old one SB6190. Any clue how to do it? Thanks!

I bought an 8300 so I could turn in our Comcast rental wifi modem. I selected the 8300 in part because it advertised the highest square foot coverage. We have a basic Xfinity plan - 75 Mb, and that has always been plenty (It was plenty for us at 25 and 50, back in the days when those were the basic plan data rates) The 8300 has so far been much less reliable, especially for my older Win7 laptop, which won’t connect at all despite 3 bars and 30 foot distance - almost line of sight location...my laptop connects only to our extender for the kids rooms down a hall, and that only intermittently. Out of curiosity I tried configuring the 8300’s guest network for 2.4G - still no joy. I turned on WiFi band steering and that somewhat helped, allowing me to connect but still only via the extender. Ideas anyone?

Bought what says SB8200 on the box at BestBuy. Registered modem with SURFBoard Central by scanning the S/N during modem activation. Says in the device here it’s a SB6141?

I pay for 800mb and I get 300mb I have a nighthawk R7900 any ideas to fix this?

So I bought a SB6190 after years of renting my modem through Xfinity. This was an amazing product and it worked well. Last night, I was having internet connection. When I woke up today, the modem is dead - no lights no nothing (I checked the power supply using a multimeter and the power is there). I just bought it like 4 months back and it is under warranty for 2 years I think. But I have no idea of how to get someone on the phone or where to get a phone number. Everything seems to redirect me here. Please help. Thanks, Sunil

Seeing large number of correctable and uncorrectable errors when accessing cable modem. Not sure what would cause these. Latest results With comparison date of different blocks looking like this. Looked for info on what powerlevels and other things should be. Saw one thing saying the powerlevels should be between 15 and -15? Was getting numbers lower than -15, so disconnect everything but cable modem, and got power level numbers to sometimes have levels in positive range and under -10. After setting up my arris g34 and having successful internet connection, the unit stops connecting. Has to be reset to connect again. Have triple checked and internet service is active and cable to unit is good. ISP is Xfinity. Can you help me?

Wi-Fi will drop several times a day on phone at home. I was told that it was because my Arris modem hadn’t been updated. It is 2 years old. Does it update automatically or do I have to do it?

This is the most aggravating situation I had yet. I have gotten out of this once but can’t replicate how to fix it. But none of my networks has this. Also, even if the network is disabled it will show this message. There is no WPA3. I have a camera that used to work on this router but stopped communicating. I’ve also done a paper clip reset.

I pay Xfinity for 1200 and am lucky to get 400. I’m just off the phone with Xfinity they said it’s a software?firmware update issue with Arris? I’m connected to a desktop Via a Nighthawk Router AC3200 R800 Any help would be appreciated

I bought a Netgear mesh Wi-Fi extender and the router keeps disconnecting every couple of days. I’ve called and spoken to the extender customer support and they have helped me set it up twice. Within a couple of days it disconnects again. I’m now looking to see if something needs changed with the router? Or do I just need to buy a newer router?

I got a reply for a possible solution to my problem of moving from central to the Legacy app. However now when I went to the app now it is going through steps for activation to get device up and running. It is asking for service provider to connect to them. This is all happening. The router is connected to Xfinity already. All I wanted to accomplish with this new app was to see if there needs to have and updates or whatever.

As the title states, I received my SBG8300 modem/router two days ago. I immediately noticed that the 2.4 Wifi kept disappearing, and I lost connection. I’ve factory reset the modem, and the problem persists, and now my Alexa and Smart Life app is failing to connect since it requires 2.4 wifi. The website shows it is active.This is one of many problems I have experienced. I could use the web but not the mobile app, as it wouldn’t connect. Now I can use the mobile app, but the web won’t connect.Is this a product defect? Update: I got the Alexa and Web working. I’m still experiencing 2.4 wifi dropping while the app and web state it is online.

My signal keeps dropping. How do I resolve this.

Lights keep blinking green and cycling from 1 to all 4 but no internet connection. Tried unplugging. Tried the reset button.

Anybody know if either of these support MU-MIMO? If not do any of the Surfboards? Thanks

New modem, local cable company recently upgraded to DOSCIS 3.1. My download is awesome with this modem, but the upstream is missing the OFDMA channel, which is causing my speed to not reach the max speed I’m paying for. Had a technician come out and he noticed that my modem wasn’t connecting to that channel. He put a temp modem on (different model) and it was able to connect to the OFDMA channel. The tech was saying I probably need a firmware upgrade, but the modem I have is one I purchased and they don’t carry those. Therefore, he isn’t sure if they can upgrade the firmware for me. Can anyone help with this or give me advise.

Am I correct in assuming that my G36 assigns the WAN IP? I think my G36 changed the WAN IP when I reset to factory defaults. Is there a way to keep the same WAN IP? If I edit and manually enter the WAN IP will it work? I have other devices on the network that are dependent on the WAN IP. So, I want it to stay the same.

We have been using our Arris modem for over two years works great. We recently switched to tmobile from Xfinity. We disconnect the service. It's been just a month and we switched back because tmobile was dropping and services spotty. We are now with Xfinity. They say everything thing is set up.on their end. Gave them the serial number and Mac address. While I can see the modem and connect, it won't connect to the internet. It does not seem to be communicating with Xfinity. Does anyone have any ideas o what I can try?

My ethernet speed seems to be capped at 100 and I can’t change modem to 1000. I tried but it reverts back when I hit save. I’m thinking it’s a link problem as speed & Duplex is set on auto negotiation but ethernet staus shows 100.

Everything is fine with logging into the admin panel, it’s just has anyone noticed the lack of accessibility? It’s insane how little you can do with it. Not too happy about this one, Arris! Edit: The lack of real customer support is apparent as well.

The literature in the box sent me to this site find the user guide. I don’t see it anywere.
