About once a week, my G36 resets the Primary Home wifi password to a 12 digit number. The admin, secondary home, and guest passwords, as well as all other settings do not change. Only the Primary Home wifi password changes. What could be causing this and/or what can I do to help track down the culprit?

SB6190 on Spectrum - 500 Mbps plan - No issues for the past 6 years, but last month started seeing Lost MDD Timeout errors - on average once a day at different times. Does not appear to impact throughput and no noticable connection drop. Throughput when tested is typcially 580 Mbps down and 23 Mbps up. Up until last month I have never seen that error message. First tech replaced all connections and removed a Forward Path Attenuator (that they installed several years ago) as he thought the upstream power was too high (51.5) 2nd tech replaced the drop from the street with rg11, but errors continue. Modem is connected to drop with a 75 foot rg6 coax with one double female connector (that was replaced by first tech) Current plan is too move the modem so it is connected to the drop with a 6 foot coax and run ethernet from modem to the router to see if errors go away and if they still exist, will replace the modem with a new DOCSIS 3.1 modem before calling Spectrum back, but would rather not

Hello, it seems our newly activated SGB10 is connected to xfinity and working fine on their end. It allows web browsing on google chrome but no apps or devices can connect. Does anyone know how to fix that? Xfinity is adamant that it's a problem with the modem itself. -J

Hi, I have the g36 Arris gateway, I upgraded from a Netgear nighthawk and only did so because our speeds where dropping when we had 4 or more people gaming at once via Ethernet and we where also paying Xfinity for 1gbps and the nighthawk was only capable of 600 mbs. So long story short we upgraded a few weeks ago everything was great for about 4 days and than randomly the wifi through the whole house would just drop but upon further investigation our devices are still connected to the wifi network but it's just not loading anything it doesn't even say "connected but can't connect to internet" like it usually does. For reference the wired Ethernet connections still work fine. The only fix that's worked is to power cycle the gateway which fixes it but after a day or two it happens again. Not a huge issue but extremely annoying seeing as we don't have great service where we live and wifi calling is pretty important for work and family emergencies. I have recently purchased a SURFboard SB8200 and was working thru the activation with Xfinity. During the activation process the agent said they received an error code that the serial number already exists. Error code [] [].(!{2}!) This unit was brand new. How do I get around this?

To minimize vulnerability, can I change the admin password before I connect the cable for internet access? Or does it require xfinity activation first?

Hi, I have a NVG578LX/NVG578HLX that my internet provider told me I can just throw away. As I hate how much e-waste we recently generate I have a question. Is there a way to flash the software to something generic/open source to keep it working at least as an access point/router or anything useful :D?

I have a 800GB plan with Xfinity but using the 2.5GB port. could this cause Xfinity to drop my connection? The modem never comes back online until I reboot it manually. I tried Windows Trouble Shooting and ipconfig /renew etc to see if I could get it back online without a reboot but nope. Im guessing with all the others having the same issue, its faulty firmware being pushed from Xfinity ???How do I report this so a Surfboard technician can look into this issue before I end up just going with a different brand? Could changing anything in the LAN Ethernet Ports help. they are all set to Auto Configuration.

SURFBoard app does not connect to wi-fi after factory reset. It knows what the router and password is and my phone app shows I’m connected. Regardless it says the connection ws not made. It was scanned and I was right next to the router. I’ve tried this a dozen times over the last week and it has never worked.

My internet provide changed my modem from Arris SBG7580-AC to Arris TG3442s modem now have a NAS drive which I used to connect to it via VPN and cannot connect. Tried port forwarding, DMZ, mac brigding but still cannot connect to it.

Hi all, I once was able to log into my account, then I did a reset and now I can not login again. I have tried the admin and password thing, my email I used for initial setup, etc. and nothing works. The app tells me my email and the password to use, but nothing is allowing me in again….and suggestions? It keeps saying “ Invalid Login Credentials! “

Greetings and salutations — I have two Arris modems — an SB8200 with WOW/RCN/Astound service and a T25 with Comcast/Xfinity service connected to a router. The router has multi-pathing enabled and balances remote destination addresses across the two WAN connections. Under normal circumstances, this works well. If Comcast’s service fails, the T25 blinks out, the router removes it as a routing option, and life goes on. BUT, if WOW service goes out, the SB8200 doesn’t blink out with it — instead it switches from being a bridge to WOW’s network to being a gateway to nowhere. It leases my router a new address from its built-in pool and carries on. This is an incredibly annoying behavior because it results in external addresses being balanced between the remaining WAN connection (Comcast) and a black hole (WOW.) Devices on my internal network can get to e.g. ibm.com but not e.g. google.com. Is there a way to force the SB8200 to function as a bridge when it looses signal? Is this a carrier pro

Hello Arris Community! I just purchased a brand new Arris SB6190, but am a little concerned about the power supply. The modem is rated at 12V, 0.75A input, while the power supply that came with it is rated at 12V, 1A. For most electronics, I would only using a matching power supply to avoid damaging the device. Does the modem have some tolerance to make this acceptable, or was I somehow given the wrong power supply with my purchase? Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Everyone, I recently have been very slow downloading. Takes forever to just load a Roku channel. I called my provider Comcast and they all looks good on their network. I read an article on how to get into my modem. I checked the Status page and Activity Log and all looked good. I checked the Signal page and everything looked good except the Downstream Power. The article I read said it should be between -15dBmV and +15. It was showing 1dBmv across all channels. It said try to refresh page but I didn’t know how to. My question is this. Does this power level come from my service provider and why might it be so low. I am thinking this is why my download speed is low. Thanks

We recently bought a g34 , set it up and it all works great but when we try to add an outdoor wifi outlet the app sees it but it times out. We have successfully added this outlet to another router and it works great we have concluded after trying every which way and getting the same result it may be the router settings-any help is appreciated. The plug is made by Tessan and has 3 outlets so you can plug something in and turn it on and off remotely thru wifi. Outdoor wifi plug

S33 was working fine connected to Xfinity. There was a storm in the area with lightning. The S33 is plugged into a Tripp Lite surge protector the coax is plugged into the surge protector as well as grounded on the side of house. Router is still functioning just doesn’t see the Modem.
