G36 connectivity issues

I posted 26 days ago and the issue seems to resolve but I’m having connectivity issues again.Also, I am unable to reply to the following comment and I made the original post “Could you please specify whether the intermittent connection is happening on the Wi-Fi or the wired connection? When the internet connection drops, does the gateway (G36) reboots on its own? SURFboard Community Moderator Team” my reply: the only thing that is wired is the modem/router. All other devices are wifi.

G34 X-Box UPnP Not successful

New to this community but I see I’m not the only one having this issue. Brand new G34 bought today and my Xbox one can’t connect to it. Phone, laptop, table all connect just fine. Is it an xbox issue or a modem issue. I’ve already done the restart, enable UPnP on the web manager and nothing has worked so far. Gonna try a wired connection and if that doesn’t work, I’m returning it.

Wi-Fi cable modem not comnecting to Windows 8 laptop on G34

My windows 8 laptop is showing as “limited connection” when trying to connect to our new Arris G34 wi-fi cable modem. My other laptop, desktop and all phones in the house are connected. Network drivers are up to date on the computer and I had no problems connecting this laptop to our previous modem. Suggestions please?

I’m trying to go through the set up process and it says there’s an error and it tells me to go into my settings and connect to Wi-Fi yet. I’m already connected any advice?

Fix parental controls on router G36 - hacked?

Long story short the Surfboard app parental control is working. However, I ran out of “blocks” (seriously, only 32 !?), and saw that the gui web interface also allows for blocking from there also. (1) The gui parental controls do not allow for dashes “-”. Given there are many domains with dashes, why not? (2) Everything was going fine. I had 25 listed in gui. No problemo. After we had to power-reset one day I saw they were down to 15. I added them again. A few days later we had to power reset (not a factory reboot just a power outage) and once again down to 15. I added them back once more. Then I saw that the ones I added back, although they were listed in the gui software, they were not actually blocking anything anyway (I tested from a laptop afterwards). I come back and they are still there and listed. They stay there and remain listed. Until we have a power cut. Then they vanish as if by magic. I have had a problem with hackers. I think they have done something to the router to sto

So my wifi has been going on for like a month and a half now. I tested some things and found out it only happens when I load up a game on my computer. This has never happened before. Could be fine all day until I load a game up on my computer

cant get wifi on my ipod touch

I have an older ipod touch. I'm trying to get Wifi but not connecting. I have Xfinity internet. I tried both SSID on the box but won't let me join. All other electronics hook up fine. Airplane mode is off. Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi I have a G36 and my internet is constantly going in and out. It start about 2 weeks ago. It goes out on everything PC, phone, tv, Etc. not sure why this is happening

new to G36 - SBC app logon not working

The modem is working but I’d like to get the app up and working so I can simplify the password. The QR code that came with the unit doesn’t work and I don’t seem to be able to do it manually. I’ve set up a password and user name, but that’s about it.

G36 won't connect to Surfboard app to change password and network name

New G 36 connected to Xfinity and online with solid blue light in front, via surfboard and Xfinity app setup process. At the last step, Surfboard app delivers Something Went Wrong Error Code: 0015-1805 and then I can go no further. We are online and connected, I just want to access to edit network name and password.

Unable to connect to internet on G34 modem.

I have been unable to connect to the G34 modem for 3 days. Sparklight verified that the modem has an internet signal going to it and the light is solid blue one the modem. We howevere cannot connect laptops, phones, or TVs to the internet. I tried to reset it and then the app was unable connect to it to set it up. There’s an IP reset address 192.168.0.1 but it WILL NOT work. The Surfboard app has logged me out and will not allow me to log in. Please help. I pay $50 a month for wifi and I want to actually be able to use it. Side note: the modem is only a year old. We bought it in January 2024.

My G34 the wireless connection works perfectly but my ethernet ports don't work at all. I've tried getting new cables, restarting the router, resetting it . Nothing helped

Network Connectivity problem with G36 Modem

I bought G36 modem in May 2024 and have been having no problem till about a month ago. Now I have to disconnect and connect the power several times daily. The streaming on my TV’s last only about 15-20 minutes after which there is no streaming and the screen states there a Network problem and to disconnect and reconnect the power source to the Modem. My internet provider is Xfinity. Some of the letters in the Surfboard community from 1 year ago,state that Arris is working on an update. Do they have an update? If so how can I get it. Is this a problem with Arris or Xfinity?

xbox keeps displaying upnp unsuccessful error on G34

Every other device other than the Xbox has connected and works perfectly. I’ve tried everything I’ve seen on different theads to fix this problem. Factory reset, port forwarding, various setting and security protocol changes and nothing has worked. Xbox connects to modem/router g34 but can will launch any games or apps like Netflix, Hulu, max, etc. save your time and mine and don’t recommend I do anything I already have as I’ve done them multiple times with no success

surfboard login web will not accept password and unable to set up the SBC app on G36

The app wouldn't connect to my G36, kept getting 0000-1614 error code. So I logged into the web interface. After updating my password, it asked me to log in again. Fine no problems, BUT it won't accept my password! Now I have no way to log into my router/modem. It keeps telling me to use the email address I used for the app. Did but it still will not acknowledge my password. I've reset the modem so many times is sad. I'm fed up! How do I get my password to work on the website since the app won't work?

App prompts to factory reset G36

I have set up my G36 via the web browser. When I try to log in to the router from the Mobile app (on the same network) it prompts to do a factory reset on the router. I have tried the app on two different mobile devices on the network and they both prompt for factory reset. I have no problem accessing the router via a web browser.

g36 modem/router xfinity intermittent connection

I had xfinity out a few weeks ago to address intermittent internet connectivity. The same issue seems to be happening again since yesterday. Xfinity tech spent about 2 hours getting the updates to go through and I had hopes to be in the clear. Is there another update that is stuck? I would like to not have to replace this as I spent the extra money and it is supposed to be compatible with xfinity. My last modem and router set lasted me 8+ years. I think this Arris g36 is in year 2 and according to the site my warranty has expired…
