On a SBG8300, how do I monitor how many gigabytes pass through it to compare to my ISP?  ISP says my data usage went up 300% in 1 month with no changes in usage!

I recently bought a G36 router, and it has been performing well.  However, a couple times a week, the ethernet ports on the back go dark, and the devices connected to them drop off the network.  I know it is the gateway and not the devices, because all the devices will simultaneously drop off. Power cycling the gateway temporary solves the problem, but it inevitably returns.  I have tried a factory reset, but to no avail.  Its pretty frustrating, as ethernet is supposed to be more reliable than WiFi, but that seems not to be the case.

Hi,I have an SBG8300.My internet was down this morning, but the online and Wi-Fi lights were illuminated. I tried in connecting and reconnecting the power. No luck. Then I tried resetting with a paper clip. I held the button down for a minute (timed). Nothing happened. The lights stayed on the whole time. When I disconnect the internet cable (the power cable is the only thing left plugged in), the online and wifi lights are still illuminated. Even if I power cycle, the second I plug the power cable in, it says I have wifi, even without the wifi cable.I’m at a loss for what to do here. Is there another way to reset my device? Do I just need to buy a new one?

I have multiple security cameras on my home wifi that only operate on the 2.4ghz frequency, so when the router switches to 5ghz I lose the ability to connect to the cameras.  Is there a way to only use the 2.4ghz and block the router from switching to 5ghz.

I just downloaded the app, to try and run a speedtest, but my app is showing the wrong device connected.I have a SBG8300, black modem/router. I set this up via the web portal, but when I logged into the app, it is showing it as an S33 white modem only.This is preventing me from doing a wifi speedtest.Anyone else having this issue, or know why it's happening?

Every 15-30 min. modem/router keeps restarting itself. All lights goes off and starts the single light boot up. Comes up and works fine for 15-30 min and then restarts. Xfinity said to reach out to you.

While this modem seems to work, it does not work well at all! Contacting a human to discuss isn’t available it doesn’t seem without paying for it during the warranty period.  (ITS still under warranty!)Several issues I have.   The one that is driving me absolutely crazy is after I set the STATIC IP’s for devices on my network that MUST stay at a static location (CAMERAS).  I set up all of my static IP’s and turn on the network for them all to get their proper IP’s.  That seems to work well.  After a couple months, ALL of my static leases are GONE!  Cameras are at other IP’s.  Set to static again and again month or so later… GONE!  Other issues that I have had and I just STOPPED attempting to use it… I want my LOCAL IP’s to be 10.199.30.XXX.  I setup the DHCP server side for that with starting IP’s at the 20’s to 250.  Works GREAT… UNTIL… A month or so, the SUBNET changes to something that is WAY out of scope and NOTHING works.   I have to factory reset and s

Got home from night away, solid orange light. Attempted multiple resets, light remains solid orange. Did 30-30-30, checked with Xfinity etc. 

 My SBG6580 modem starts fine, establishes a connection, and appears to work normally. But will drop after a while and, and attempt reconnect. How do I change the name of my network and password from the default.

How does one go about filing a warranty claim for a failed Arris SBG8300 cable modem please? Thank you for your time and any helpful information you may be able to provide me with.

My home wifi shows up in all my electronic devices available network EXCEPT for my Windows 10 HP computer.  My neighbors wifi shows in my available network.  I have done the troubleshooting reset suggested by various youtube personalities but it did not fix the problem. My internet provider has sent signal to the device several times and still nothing.  I use the computer for work so this is very inconvenient. Any suggestions to fix the issue is appreciated. 

I’m trying to login to the web GUI but in the app it doesn’t show the credentials. I shows the this screeAny idea how I can get the credentials?I’m also having a problem where devices stop connecting to 5G until rebooting the Gateway.Thanks in advance.Eric

I cannot seem to get the 2.4 ghz networks to appear regularly appear on any device.  They have briefly appeared over the past month and then dissapear withing minutes.  I have tried factory resent, enabling and disabling the networks, and changing the 2.4 ghz channel without success.  What else can I do?

I would like to know if you have any router wifi with Matter compatibility (Matter 1.0 or 1.1,  the standard for the IoT home connectivity).  I looked through internet and I saw that you (Arris) provides routers to Comcast with WiFi 6 and with Matter. Can’t log into the web portal at all. I’ve done this over a few times including a factory reset. I’ve had web portal access but the app would never finish the setup with error. The very first setup I had the app working, but never could log into the web portal. After the factory reset I’m in the same situation I was the first time. App now works, web portal once again denies all attempts as incorrrect log in info.

Good evening, I’m trying to get to the bottom of whether or not Xfinity did something to the lines in my area as part of a recent “network enhancement” that is now causing the Arris CMTS to put my modem via a profile config update on bad channels multiple times a week overnight the last couple weeks. When this occurs, I wake up to it and the download speed is virtually non existent. It isn’t until I power cycle the device and it puts it back on presumably fine/clear channels that everything returns to normal.As far as timeline, the CMTS wasn’t making these dynamic profile update changes to these presumably bad channels until after Xfinity did “network enhancement” line work back on 4/10 and follow up work on 4/14. Almost immediately after the 4/14 work, that night is when I started seeing the issues with my modem the next morning on 4/15. Since then, the CMTS has been putting me on bad channels 4 times now, overnight, between 1AM and 7AM EST, most recently last night. It

Yesterday my SBG6580-2 receive light started blinking and wifi stopped working. I have tried power cycling and the hard reset button on the machine. Looking at different trouble shooting didn't help since there wasn't a case written out with the same light combination. What are the next steps I should pursue? Hi, Does the G34 3.1 Modem/Router work with a phone (landline using Xfinity) with a Phone Ethernet adapter?

G34 connected to Cox network in Arizona. I have many (30+) devices connected to wi-fi on router. I’m trying to separate data devices (desktop computer with wifi, iPads and iPhones, printer, Amazon firestick, three security cameras) from other support stuff (pellet cooker, LED lights, electricity monitor, solar panel monitor, etc.). I have put some items on Guest network, and I wanted to try adding some to Secondary network. I enabled 2.4 GHz Secondary network, but it does not access the internet consistently, so it’s not very reliable. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to notify the ISP that the secondary network is being used? (I don’t think so, but I’m stumped). Can I not use the primary and guest AND secondary networks at the same time? I’d like to be able to use the Primary, Secondary and Guest networks to split up the devices, particularly the 2.4GHz devices, because many devices don’t use 5GHz band. So far, I’m not able to use the Secondary network consistently. L

I keep reading that G34 is Wi-Fi 6e compatible, but I don’t know how to access 6e. All I see is primary, secondary and guest SSIDs, with each having 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. What am I missing? 

Help would be appreciated in confirming if Arris with certain later firmware updates took away the Backup and Restore option in the SBG6580 modem/router.I currently have firmware version SBG6580-8.9.0.5-GA-03-154-NOSH.Years ago, I remember under Basic (even as instructed here: https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SBG6580-v8-5-x-Configuration-Backup-and-Restore-Tool), there was an option to backup and restore. Why can't I access the wireless part and advanced part on my router? The wireless tells me I'm already logged in but I'm not and nothing is there to look at and I have to have the password of the day for the advanced side. I have a ARRIS DG3270A Router

I host a website on my lan, and have the new arris g34 configured to forward the appropriate port range. However I cannot reach the external site from inside my LAN. Someone suggested that this is due to loopback restrictions on the g34. I can’t find a control point for any setting like that. Is there one?
