Wi-Fi Modems

Solid blue light, able to log into Wi-Fi but says no internet. internet provider confirms my modem is online. accessed the gateway summary, connection, WAN shows an active IP address. please assist.

Does anyone know why the only thing being reported back to me by my G36 via the app is a very low signal strength warning for one of my connected devices, and a suggestion to move it closer to the G36. But here's the "Huh?" part: It's the initial router in a Wi-Fi mesh system and it's hardwired to the G36 on a Cat6 cable that's not 6 feet long. It has NO wireless connection to it, so why is my G36 worried about a low RSSI?

It's random. But, my modem looses both 2.4 and 5g connection. Randomly. Hardwire works fine. Usually resetting modem temporarily fixes problem. But, it can happen anytime. 1 day, 1 hour or even a few days later. Sometimes multiple times a day. My dad has same modem and never has this problem!

Cannot change username and password on G34. HELP! ARRIS site says "WARNING! NOT SECURE!"

This is weird! On one laptop, the first to connect to the ARRIS, and near the modem, the username (the 2.4G one) is G34-66CD (and only that one for the ARRIS shows up), and the second laptop to connect, which is on a different floor, has only the username G34-66CD-5G showing up for the ARRIS...and the download speed is more than twice as fast! PROBLEM: I can’t get G34-66CD-5G, the correct one, on my first LAPTOP! I don’t get why it’s happening like that. Any ideas and/or solutions? THANKS!!!

I recently installed and activated through internet provider, Xfinity. Slow sporadic WiFi, very limited range.

New G34 solid blue light and no internet period. ISP says it is junk.

We’ve been having intermittent outages with our 2-year old G36 using Cox cable that sound similar to what’s been described for Xfinity. The issues started a few weeks ago after having our Cox service upgraded - which BTW when working have really improved our speeds. I’ve perfomed a factory reset & Cox has run their remote tests and stated there are no issues on their end. Just wondering if the same type of Xfinitly issue could possibly be happening with Cox? My next step is to purchase an new gateway (or maybe seperate modem & router) to replace the G36...I’m also wondering if I should try a different brand as a comparison (please note that I’m not trying to be controversial...just thinking about process of elimination). Thanks for any feedback & hope your issues get resolved sooner than later...it’s definitily frustrating.

After setting up my G34 modem/router on Xfinity login was changed and can’t configure my router the way I want.

How do I change the password on my network and also the name of my network?

I have a SBG10 that doesn’t show any connection when i connect to it on my phone. It pops up and connects but no internet connection. However, if i plug an ethernet from the SBG to my computer the computer recieves internet fine. Not anything else. My gateway that i have the SBG plugged into is Spectrum. Please Help!

I'm trying to setup this wifi cable modem. Followed instructions 100% multiple times over many days. The modem WILL NOT progress past blinking green lights to SOLID GREEN lights where I can activate withy carrier. Currently sitting on blinking green lights for 1 hour. Please help. Xfinity says it is a device issue.

Hello, I own an Arris G36 that I bought 10/6/2023. Since then, I've had very unstable internet, where I would drop multiple times during a 1-hour conference call making working from home impossible. I've found numerous forum posts about firmware 01.04 causing this issue and that version 01.05 fixes the intermittent connectivity issues. I've also been told that per DOCSIS, Arris (the manufacturer) is unable to update this firmware, and that it is the ISP's responsibility to verify and push out the update to their customers. First, is this true? Am I stuck and at the mercy of Xfinity? It's almost been a full year of degraded service and I'm not only in the hole for a $320 modem that barley functions, AND the 9+ months of 1.2Gbps I've been paying for and not enjoying. What's the answer here? Am I out $320 because people don't want to support their recommended hardware? People can't afford to be making these mistakes, this isn't insignificant. I have the G36. I also have TiVo. I want to setup port forwarding for it. I checked online and there’re about 9 ports to open/forward. Do I have to find and put in all TiVo ip’s for each box and open a port for each one? I’m confused on filling it out. Example: internal start point, internal end point, external start point, external end port. Some of the ports are 80, 443, 7387 and so on. Can anyone give me an example on how to set it up based on the ports mentioned? Thanks Joe p

I just moved. All of my devices connect to my SBG8300. However SBG8300 isn't connecting to internet. Can't login to my ARRIS gateway. Forgot password. Internet service unchanged with spectrum.

I have an SBG8300. The 2.4 and 5 G bands have been separated. I have 15 smart home devices connected to the 2.4, most of which work just fine (the ones that don’t are FEIT bulbs and outlets, which I have been told is a FEIT app problem. These problem devices randomly show offline). I recently bought a new device (a grill/smoker) but despite there being a full 5 signal bars, it won’t connect (it also requires the 2.4). The smoker will connect to my phone via hotspot, so the smoker manufacturer states it’s an issue with the router. But what that could be is anyone’s guess. So, anyone have a guess on what the problem could be? Thank you.

This has been the most frustrating last 9 months or so. I thought that this model would work well with my house rentals ISP ( COX ) Well, I have been plugging in and unplugging, reseting, rebooting, rebooting the modem, buying new RJ45, new switch, new dock, plugging in and unplugging again. Why does this router keep DISABLING my ethernet connection. I keep the same config and its like a roll of the dice if it will work or not? If anyone has any thoughts Id LOVE to hear them. This can’t be user error, or a hardware issue, or maybe it could be. I am at a loss and VERY happy to be going on vacation for a week. PLEASE HELP.

I just purchased an ARRIS G34 and set it up. The PC’s seem to access the web, although slowly. However I can’t seem to connect to streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. They either timeout or I get a no internet connect message. MY provider is SPectrum
