Wi-Fi Modems

Xfinity just  sent me an email stating that my Arris SBG8300 modem will not deliver 1.2 Gbps which is the speed provided by their network. My speed check comes to 868.5 Mbps and I am CAt6 hard wired to the modem approximatly 20 feet away.Can anyone on  this form collaborate this info? And if so, does Arris have any suggestions to remedy this problem? Software upgrade?

I can't connect to Epson ET-3830 Printer with my new Arris Model G36 combo router/modem. I also can’t connect to my Whiskers Litter Robot 4 either with this new wifi.  My phones and computers are connecting fine though.  My printer troubleshooter said I should check to see if my privacy or separator feature is enabled in the access point which I have no idea on how to do.  Any suggestions to help fix this?  

I’m helping my in-laws increase the security on their wi-fi network.  These two are 97 and 100 years old.  I think it’s unlikely that they can move to better security but I was a software guy, not a network person.  Can someone advise me please. You’ll have my gratitude and the gratitude of a man who landed on Omaha beach.  Thank you.I suspect that a new modem is a better option but these two don’t manage change well.  So if I can make their network more secure it would be easier.

I have a SBG7600AC2 modem that I bought a couple of months ago. I am having an issue where the 2.4 GHz WiFi ONLY will stop providing internet to those devices that are connected to it, such as Alexa, the Blink cam, and the Ring cams.The wired internet works just fine during this time, and the 5 GHz WiFi also works just fine during this time.In order to reset it, I have to go to 192.168.0.1, turn off the 2.4 GHz in the Surfboard menu, turn it back on, and everything connects again within a few seconds.A day or two later, it will do it again. I’ve played with many of the settings in the menu without any change. I don’t believe it is interference because the devices will stop being connected and won’t reconnect without my doing the reset. Even after hours, it will not reconnect on it’s own. All devices go off-line at the same time. Any suggestions?

When i put my G54 in bridge mode and connect it to tp-link Archer AX55 i have internet for about 5 mins and then I lose both wifi and land line connections.

After reading what I could find here, I suspect many have this issue!!I used the web interface to thoroughly configure the G34 and TURNED OFF THE WIFI since I have a very nice mesh network plugged into the G34… I foolishly listened to the banner and used the Surfboard Central app to see what else could be configured… BAD MOVE!!I now  get a logon screen that REQUIRES AN EMAIL AND PASSWORD WHICH I WAS NEVER GIVEN!!!It tells me I can “get to the old logon...” by clicking something that DOES NOT EXIST!!!Common sense tells me there should be a URL that I could append to the router IP in my browser to get to the other logon screen (e.g. https://{router IP}/<old logon page.php>) if only someone could supply that info!! If I can’t  get that info, I am faced with resetting the modem and spending a few hours reconfiguring all my custom settings!!

Looking to migrate sbg10 out of service, but in the configuration, the router mode- can i use bridge?

Why would my SSIDs just disappear???? I found a similar question from a year ago. And the answer. 17 freaking steps to reset your modem???? Are you kidding me? I didn’t buy this to do this. So is there a clear answer why would SSIDs just vanish suddenly? Barely had this thing for 10 days. It’s either going back to the store or in the garbage. So disappointing. 

I recently purchased a new surfboard SBG 10. It was set up with the default name and password. I would like to change that name and password to something I’m familiar with. Help.

i cant access the admin login. i used the default login after i reset the router and still cant get in. it does say im using an unsupported version of chrome but mine in is updated and because of that the browser is unsecure. I've tried adjusting every security setting and even downloading an older version of chrome but nothing has worked. i could use some help if anyone has any ideas

Is there a way to connect this SBG10 model with a hdmi connector to a flat screen tv?

Hello, As many other users I ran into a problem with intermittent packet loss. Arris sent a replacement - both G36 units have loss. 2xXfinity modems + 1x CODA56 - no loss. The issue is clearly with G36. Arris support is trying to blame Xfinity for incorrect signal levels and Xfinity is reasonably responding that their signal levels are good for other modems so Arris needs to fix it - and it doesn’t. So what can be done?Can I return that G36? Or can Arris fix that problem from their side? Thanks!

WiFi says it is connected but it’s not working. Tried to connect the TV to the WiFi and says not able to connect to server. How do I fix this? 

Howdy everyone! Just replaced my providers Arris with this G34 (SBG00DAY34). I currently have Optimum service formally known as (suddenlink). I pay for the 500 Mbps Service, and with their modem everything was perfect! I always had at least no lower than a 450 Mbps download speed, I would even see 600 sometimes on wired connections. Now on this G34 all of my ethernet ports show a -200 dBm. I have three ethernet cords plugged in. They go to my TV, Xbox series X and desktop. The dBm levels on the WiFi are normal and the connection is perfect on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. But again, the speeds are hardly acceptable. If I wasn’t paying for speeds I wasn't receiving I wouldn't mind. Everything seems to work okay which is strange to me, and the ping is low.  I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing the issue with the ethernet ports. If anyone can give me any sort of direction, I would greatly appreciate it. when it comes to technology and figuring things out, b

I bought an SBG8300 gateway a couple months ago, replacing an Xfinity rented gateway. Since then, I’ve had an issue where connecting my laptop to the wifi will cause the network to crash within about 30 seconds, sometimes faster. I have one desktop PC connected via ethernet, my phone is sometimes but not always connected and does not cause the crash, and there is a wifi printer which seems to have connection problems in general (I believe it may crash the network too, but it is hard to tell, since it disconnects at random - I believe this is an issue with the printer). My network is 400 mbps with Xfinity, and I had no issues while using their (rental) gateway. The laptop, a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge which came out very recently and is new, will cause this crash consistently. After a few minutes, the network will be back up, and from there it will usually crash at least one more time, but not always. Depending on the day, the network will either crash repeatedly, or wi

I have a 800 mbps service from xfinity. I get roughly 500 mbps wired and less that 100 mbps wireless.  I’m sitting 5 feet from the router unobstructed.  Doesn’t matter if it’s on the 2.4 or 5 channels. what are your thoughts? Thanks! 

WHY won’t my G34 connect to wifi

I have an unknown device showing on my surfboard app.   I've been throughout my home and can't find any other devices I haven't named in my surfboard.  I want to remove or block access to this device but I don't know how to do either of those things on my android phone app.  Can you please tell me how I'd go about blocking or deleting this device from my system? I have my 2 printersMy NEST  ThermostatSon's Play StationFirestickVIZIO TV and all other things that were connected to network on itROKU TV3 EVO FORCE1 boxes for televisionsMy phoneSon's phoneSon's laptopMy laptop Been through the house, no idea what this last thing could be.   Unplugged Alexa,  but apparently that is Bluetooth.  

I own my sbg8300 modem-router and use Mediacom. Recently it stopped working and I couldn't connect to the admin page, so I hardcoded my computer IP settings, connected to the router, and found that the ipv4 settings were all wrong. I reset them and the router worked for two weeks. Today they are messed up again and it won't save my changes. Right now the gateway is set to 120.74.103.183 and the subnet is 0.208.94.67. These are wrong, right? Is my firmware corrupted? How do I fix it?

Green globe is on, but no communication to modem. Even with wired connection. 

I’ve had an air surfboard mesh system for years.  I have 3 -W31 units. One is the router and the other 2 are satellites to extend signal. I have SB8200 modem. Looking to upgrade but curious if I can still use the W31s as satellites if I upgrade to G54. If so, is there a limit to the number of satellites I can connect? thx,cable

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300 where the password for the 2.4GHz network isn’t working with new devices. I can connect to the modem/router and the password for the 2.4GHz network is correct in the Admin portal. Devices that have been connected to this network are working fine, but when I try to connect a new device (Echo Dot) to the network, I get an invalid password error. I’ve verified the password in the admin panel is correct and I’ve entered the password several times into the Alexa app that connects the Echo Dot, but I still get the password error. I have many devices using the 2.4GHz network, and they are all working fine. The error only happens when I try connecting new devices.This doesn’t happen only on Amazon products. I only have this error on new devices that are limited to a 2.4GHz network. My only workaround is to use the 5GHz network. It’s using the same password as the 2.4GHz network, and I am 100% certain that I am

New g34 has WiFi but no internet i double checked with my isp and modem is connected to them i tried resetting multiple times light is steady blue

I have bought a new Arris modem - do I need to do anything to remove any personal information on file?
