Wi-Fi Modems

I just got the g54 today, I set it up and it is connected to my isp. Every couple hours the g54 will lose connection then reconnect. I will have internet then all the sudden I lose it and have to wait for the g54 to reset, then I get my internet back.

I can no longer login as admin with the correct password. I kept getting “Please Login First” prompt after logging in. If I entered a wrong password, I received invalid credential error message. I hesitate to reset the hardware because it would mean I would spend eternity to connect all the devices that connected to the network.

We purchased an SBG8300 modem/router approximately a year and a half ago. Since we’ve had it, we haven’t had a month go by that the modem doesn’t lose network connection, reboot, lose network connection, & reboot numerous times before working again. There’s no rhyme or reason as to when it occurs (morning, afternoon, evening) and it affects every device connected to it. We’ve tried various things to solve the issue but it keeps occurring. I’ve had Xfinity come out to check it but they can’t find any issues. I’ve reset the modem on several occasions and even changed the network names but that hasn’t helped. I’ve changed out the coax cable to the modem & I even replaced all of the Ethernet cables going to and from the modem but no luck. I just recently stumbled upon the QAM Upstream Power Level solution. However, when I log into the modem settings, from what I can see, according to my research information, the power levels seem completely fine. I’ve attached 4 screenshots from the modem

Why has Arris not responded to the problem of G34 login in endless loop? I have tried multiple times to use the admin/password - and it keeps giving me msg ‘login first’ have double checked password - and its correct - not getting msg - invalid credentials Fix the dam software and send us the update!

I can't connect to Internet because of WiFi password, it always says "check password and try again". But password is right for sure, I wasn't change it, it is default. And I checked many times, I know it's right. I don't know why I can't connect. This is what I see in the mobile app (screenshots), I use Surfboard central app (my phone not support another app named "arris Surfboard manager") . please help

Hi, we have not had a connection for 1.5 days. I have reset, plugged everything back in, and confirmed with Comcast that there are no issues on their end. I have a solid blue light on the G34. It is hardwired to my desktop computer, but I cannot connect to GUI web portal when I try. Any ideas? This is only a few months old and we have had ongoing issues.

Just bought the modem and tried to set it up with Xfinity. The WiFi is connecting fine, but I can’t access the network. I think the password is incorrect. Please advise.

I am using a program for internet phone calls, Cisco Jabber, for my work computer and during calls no one can hear me. They are able to hear me through the program Teams, but not Jabber. Do you have any suggestions why changing a modem would make calls not work. (prior modem from Mediacom worked fine)

After a storm last week, my internet became spotty and unreliable after all devices working perfectly and in-sync prior to this. I factory reset everything I do not know how many times.. I called Google support several times, as well as my ISP Xfinity - to no avail. After the reset - the extenders can’t connect to my arris. I have 3 Google Nest WiFi Pro - I use one as the router and it is connected to my Arris SBG7400AC2 via Ethernet cable. Now, I have internet through Arris but signal is weak throughout the house. When I try to add a device through the google home app, it displays all 3 Nest wifi devices , I select the one that I’ve been using and that is connected via Ethernet cable, I go though the promts but when I get to the “connect the Ethernet cable” - I get stuck! Nothing happens.. I also tried to swap the devices to see maybe that one is bad one now - not working. I also cannot log in to the Arris admin menu to see if I can bridge it.. How do I change my modem password?

I need some help troubleshooting the wireless my SBG8300. My wifi is dropping out daily and sometimes multiple times a day. For a connected device, the wifi will stop working. Sometimes the device will show connected with no internet and sometimes it will drop the connection. Sometimes the SSID is still visible but devices are unable to connect. Sometimes the SSID is not visible. Once I reboot the modem, all wifi radios are working again. This has been happening for months but more frequent recently. I have a 2.4gz radio set up, I have a 5ghz radio set up and I have a 2.4ghz isolated guest network set up. Sometimes the 5ghz radio will stop working and the others will continue to work. Sometimes the 2.4ghz radio will stop working and the other will work and sometimes all the radios stop working. I’m trying to setup a Netgear wifi range extender to use with my Arris G34 moden/router and I can’t get the Netgear to recognize the router. I had an older Arris before and had no problem setting up the extender. I called netgear and they said I’d have to log into my router account for them to continue to troubleshoot. Every time I tried to do that I got a message that it was not a secure website and I was not able to go any further. What should I try now?

I bought the SBG8300 about a year ago and hooked it up to my existing Google Nest wifi bundle (which includes a router and two access points). The Google nest was hooked up to my previous Verizon router with no problems. A year ago we switched to XFinity and that is when the issues began, just not that often, until now. On occasion this past year, we have had wifi issues connecting to the Google nest. But over the past few weeks, it has been a non stop problem. One of the access points keeps going offline. I have tried cycle powering them down and then up and that works for a little while, before one of the points goes offline again. I’m thinking maybe this is a configuration issue between these devices? I saw the article about setting up the SBG8300 in bridge mode, but I also saw this statement:“Setting the SBG8300 in Bridge mode disables the router” Dumb question, but don’t I need a router? Woke up and had no wifi. Checked with ISP and there are no outages. Reset my router and now it only shows up under G34 and a string of numbers but still has our same password. When I pull it up in the surfboard app it still has the original name. I can log intoo our wifi under the g34 name on my phone but no network show up under the original name. I really don’t want to reprogram every device in my house to connect to this new random name. What’s going on and how do I fix it?

I am currently using 1G service from Xfinity but will be switching to Quantum fiber next week - that will entail using a mesh network they will install and my Arris wifi cable modem will no longer work with the fiber service. I’ve been using a wired connection for my office computer and wanted to see what will change when it goes to a wireless (mesh) network after the fiber is installed. So, I ran some tests comparing the wired and wireless speeds from my current SBG 8300 cable modem. What I see is that I get 924/42 speeds from the wired connection and 380/41 from the wireless connection. The wireless test is using the 5G connection with my computer sitting 6 feet from the modem and no other devices currently being used. I also tested my speed in my basement using the 5G network and it also shows around 400/40. Presumably the 5G connection should be getting about double that - and I do get double with the wired connection. So, my question is why the wireless connections are so much slo

I got a refurbished SBG7400AC2 and set it up today. I can connect but I want to change the network names/passwords. I went to the website 192.168.100.1 and put in a stronger password. Then I went to the configure screen and tried the new password, the default “password” and the last 8 numbers of the serial number but nothing has worked. I’ve reset to default settings multiple times but it still doesn’t work. Everything has gone smoothly until now but this is getting really frustrating. Can anyone help?

My slow speed internet lost wi if connection with devices in the house but high speed devices continued to remain connected after an internet and power outage. I tried reentering WiFi passwords on the slow devices no luck. I logged on to surfboard app and toggled bridge mode. Now all devices connect on to the WiFi signal in the house but are no longer connected to the internet. How do I reset modem/ router to factory settings without bridge mode. Surfboard internet location 192.168.0.1 no longer works.

I have the G34 and We are having huge loss of speed over wifi. This has been an ongoing issue since we got the equipment and it is getting worse, not better. ( and of course, the warranty ended in Jan) I had the internet prover ( cox cable) come out and check for issues, but they did not find anything on their side. The speed coming in to the modem/ router is 1g, but the speeds I get on wifi even standing right next to the router is 45 download and 36 upload. Is there anything I can do to trouble shoot and get the speed increased for wifi? ( I am not a tech person at all, so instructions in simple step by step terms would be greatly appreciated 🙂 )

I cannot find my password for this new modem

I have the G36 and my 2.5GB will not even come close to 2GB with Ethernet. I have all Cat6a cabling and switch that can handle up to 2.5GB also. When I am plugged in with my Ethernet and do a speed test I only get 359Mpbs. How can I fix this as I do not want to change out my modem again.

I'm having same issue with sbg7600, cut out 4 times yesterday. Before that it was fine.

My wifi router isnt working. Its been replugged and reset many times. Im not sure what else to do other than contact support! Im not sure what IDs or Pins are needed but please let me know and i can give any information for any help! Thank you so much

Hi purchase an Arris G36 yesterday. We are having difficulties with internet connection and I want to change the name of our WiFi and the password.

When I try to log into the modem management website, using any viewer I get a message similar to this: “Supported Browsers Versions The version of Mozilla Firefox you are using is unsupported. Your Gateway's web interface has been tested to work with the minimum version: 63.0.3.” This is severely out-of-date, since the current version of Firefox is 125.0.1. That’s problem #1. The main problem is that it’s telling me my login credentials are incorrect… but giving me no clue how to fix that. It doesn’t offer the ability to change my password, doesn’t offer email verification, offers no help at all. After several attempts using different passwords (I have about 3 “registered” with Arris), it locked me out of my own management page. I appreciate security when it’s good, but this is seriously outdated and poorly designed software. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can solve this problem. Hi all, I am using an ARRIS router model NVG578LX provided by an internet provider. I need some help on how to turn on the 2.4GHz channel with wireless IEEE802.11b/g/n standards. It is because my desktop doesn’t have a built in wifi adapter hence I have to use an Edimax usb which only works with the IEEE802.11b/g/n standards. I have successfully turned on the 2.4GHz separated from the combine channel (the primary). I also tried turn on and off the 5Ghz. Unfortunately, the Edimax usb couldn’t find (see) the 2.4GHz network. Noting that: All the phones and laptops can find/see and access to the 2.4GHz. I also tried to turn on the Guess wifi with 2.4Ghz (but the Edimax coudn’t find/see the network). the Edimax usb still can see other network providers from the neighbours surrounding. the Edimax usb worked well with the previous internet provider using a different router (not from ARRIS) but only when I turned on the IEEE802.11b/g/n standards using the settings. it seems this is the key iss
