Recently bought a SURFboard 5G7600AC2. When I try to activate SURFboard Central on my iPhone SE 2020 and iPad Mini 5 I get error message “Wi-Fi Communication Error” even though I’m connected to the Internet on both devices. Have spoken with two ARRIS technical support agents and neither one could figure out what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought an ARRIS SURFBOARD 6190 on October 17 last year at Office Depot. The Modem stopped working yesterday, after only 7 months. No power to the modem. Power adapter was OK, Power Outlet was OK, Modem not working. I called ARRIS support, they said the warranty is not covered here because Office Depot is not an authorized dealer for ARRIS. This is absolutely dissatisfying and the first time I heard it. Will never again buy this brand. Modem replaced with a Netgear device….

How do you disable the primary wifi on a G34? I want to use mine as a modem of course, with a computer hardwired directly to it along with my Google mesh routers.

Is there a general consensus what the lifespan of a router is? I’m ok with the speed but I get random interruptions in my devices which causes them to reset poorly. I only know it to be true because I have alexa that really gets thrown when it loses connection. I have had the SBG7600AC2 for a few years now and while I wish it had a little more range, I can see thats is not the problem since the lights go out on the modem themselves. I love the combo units that save me from renting from xfinity. house is about 1700 square feet. Lets say I do upgrade to SURFboard G34 that is currently on sale. if someone was to recommend a extender to help me boost the signal to the further away echos and give me a decent signal outback, what would you recommend? oh also idk why but every once in awhile with my new computer I have to restart it to get internet from the Ethernet port. I find it weird I can connect ot wifi but I figure thats more on my computer then it is is the router/modem combo.

The event log generated by my S33 cable modem contains detailed information about the modem’s operation and errors encountered during its normal operation. However, definitions explaining the contents of the event log are astonishingly not included in the user’s manual. Google searches had me going in circles. Does anyone know where can I find the meanings of the various event levels and error messages? What twisted and deluded logic did Arris use to decide that excluding such critical information was a good idea? What's the point of providing this information, yet making the definitions difficult to find?

My aris surfboard sbg10 suddenly stopped working, it’s hot to the touch and won’t reboot

I am having issues connecting to the internet with my new SGB8300 modem. Service is through Cox and they confirmed that they are seeing the modem and everything on their end is connected. I am unable to get connected via both wifi and LAN line. The error is connected but no internet. I have restarted/reset the modem several times with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to get connected to the internet.

So what is the difference between red & blue box? Older and newer? Other and 10 Gbps and 2 Gbps

We have Kumo Cloud software for our airconditioners and now that we have the Arris sb6190 they are not communicating with our phones. We’ve been told that Kumo cloud will only work on 2.4. How do we get the Arris Sb6190 to change to 2.4?

Top light is slow blue flash. Bottom light solid green. Cox says they can not see the modem.

I did a dumb and factory reset the mesh max plus router before removing it from surfboard central, now when trying to do the onboarding in the app the router fails every time it gets to the firmware download part. Giving me the above error code and telling me to reboot the router to download the file and if the problem persists, to call customer support. I have tried everything from deleting the app and clearing the cache and data to seeing up a new email in the app. I have also performed another factory reset, compels disconnected everything including the modem from each other and the power and booted up one at a time, following the install instructions for a new router. I am doing this at 1am pdt so can't contact support yet due to their hours. Will attempt when i wake up. This is very frustrating though as i had to perform the first reset because the internet slowed to a crawl and was fine from the modem and a power cycle did not fix the issue

Hi, folks, I’m trying to set up this model of modem for a VDSL service and while the modem acknowledges that it is a VDSL2 connection when set to automatically detect, it never connects to the internet. I have sync but no connectivity. Light status is as follows: Power green Globe red Wave 1 green Wave 2 off Wifi green All lights are solid. I am using PPPoE to connect. Any help you can provide in setting up this connection would be greatly appreciated. We have tried other modem brands on this same VDSL connection with no issue, so it’s not the line.

When I try to set it up it automaticly goes to the web to the providers site( xfinity) and I can’t see the internal status of the modem/router. Xfinity can’t seem to find the modem, although I get to their website that wants me to activate it by their app. Which doesn’t seem to work. So if I can see the internal status of the modem I can see the wan status etc. I don’t want reps coming to my house.

So I switched from a old arris modem / router to a surfboard sb8200. I purchased a router with it since the sb8200 is only a modem. Now when I try to log into the modem to adjust settings I cannot log in. I have forgotten my old user name and password and I have attempted to reset the device and use the admin / password login but it still tells me incorrect username and password. Is this something I am going to have to contact customer support for? Or is there an easier fix?

I have xfinity, i pay for gigabit speeds 1gig download,50 upload, i run two xbox consoles on it for my household both are hard wired running off a arris g36, ive looked into singal streath for up and downstreams and when i check they appear to be within the ranges thays recommended from forum posts i dont know what to do

I have been a long time user of Arris modems. My new S33 that I have had for three months quit working today. It was very hot to the touch and I suspect it was overheating. My old Arris modem was relinked and works fine so I know it’s a modem problem. Arris refuses to repair/replace the modem because it was purchased new off of ebay. Wrapped in a box…… Never connected to the internet. Half of me understands this policy but the unwillingness to help does not. No offer of a partial credit even. I’ll be switching to a different company and will never purchase from you again. Its not about money for me. It’s the unwillingness to do absolutely anything. So here I go to look for other brands.

I just installed my new Surfboard 7600 and all is working fine and the app works fine. During the setup process the app generated a complex password for the admin user which I have a copy of. However when I go to the web interface and try to login as the admin user it says that either the password is bad or there were too many failed logins. How do I get the web interface login to admin to work? Thanks

I just purchased a GE air conditioner and I'm unable to connect it. My Wi-Fi is showing up but the air conditioner is not showing up in the cloud. After going through all the troubleshooting steps with the company ,they told me that it appears that the security settings on my router or the router itself is blocking the connection. I switched it to wpa/wpa2 and it's still not working. Any ideas?

I have had this sbg6580 for years now and has been good except range. We had an extender that helped but when the painter came they lost it. So, I was looking to replace the extender and called COX. I did a speed test while I was at it and even though COX had download speeds up to 150 mbps. I am getting 50. Also, I cannot get wifi reception even 30 feet down the all. As for the speed, COX is saying modem. I doubt that. So, now I am trying to figure out should I just get extender(s) or should I get a new modem/router and possibly extender. The house is only 2500 square feet (2 stories). Any assistance/advice appreciated.

Whenever I go to the Arris website 192.168.0.1 to change my passwords, it says the website has an outdated security configuration and that it’s not a safe connection because people can see my password. What should I do about this?

Hi everybody. Just hooked up my Arris SB8200 and now some of my Roku channels won’t load. Any ideas why?

I have a new SB8200 on a new install. I can access the internet fine when wired to one of the SB8200 ports. When i connect my router’s WAN port to it, no device on my router gets traffic. There are no settings for bridge mode that I can find in the web UI of the SB8200. How can I get my router to work? It IS in DHCP mode for its WAN port.
