Question: I’m on Xfinity and want to reset my modem. Will I have to activate it again afterwards, or will it work based on the MAC? I’m asking because the default admin password doesn’t work. I tried 2 different browsers and get the same result. 

I’m trying to activate s33 with Comcast and the s33 modems MAC address is not coming up it the data base as being attached to a model

I thought it was my modem going out....so I bought the G36 so I can have service! Trying to replace this G-34 is a headache! And now...NOW as I am reading...my G34 is more than likely good...just missing the update... I've lost a lot of money and time over this stupidity!!! And the QR Code keeps coming up as INVALID CODE!! SINCE THEY MOVED AWAY FROM A SIMPLE MAC ADDRESS AND SO FORTH...ITS EVEN MORE CONFUSING...🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️21 DAYS AND COUNTING....no Internet Signal in my house😤😤😤

Have unit plugged in and connected. However won't power up, is there and on off button, can you assist?

The router light/ online is on, but it won’t connect to the wifi light. I did have a power surge throughout the day 

SB6183 continually drops wifi. ISP tries to fix but no success. They state I need a new modem. How do I get warranty service? Warranty expires Nov 2024   

Hello,my internet is dropping in pockets. I have the attached modem router below. I work from home and constantly see the internet dropping pockets a few times a day. I also have to set up connection for two of my Rokus at least 6 to 7 times a day on this router modem. Could someone please say an answer aside from “check the wires”?  I’m extremely dissatisfied with the same stock responses I’ve seen in threads such as this. My service is optimum and I’m on Long Island  

I went to my computer and put in the usual 198.168.100.1 and password wasn’t my password but the last 8 of the S/N so I get that straightened out and then it says for a better experience and more options use the app. On my web page there’s no way or option to test my speed from my provider to Xfinity that I could find. Under status there’s bonded channel’s both up and down, frequency, db’s, power and a lot of locked things that I have no idea what they mean, but nothing on the actual speed? Under event log apparently a lot happened in 1969. So I go to the app and in order to check my network I have to ok for this “third party” to look at my network with agreements written by lawyers for lawyers that I need to ok. So I ok it and it searches through all my personal private parts and then list’s what’s on my network but doesn’t list the modem itself, my router is there and everything else but not the actual modem that I want the information from. My SBG8300 is generally reliable and provides close to the gigabit service I’m paying Xfinity for. However, on random occasions between 2 and 6 days, the WAN speed will suddenly plummet to what appears to be a few hundred (yes, hundred) baud. I can get intermittent pings to go through and sometimes even small chunks of http data, but that’s about it. Not even able to load a full web page before timeouts occur.Logging into the Arris web interface and selecting Restart is sufficient to correct the issue (as is a power cycle) - for a few days, until it happens again. It usually happens overnight - the WAN connection is fine when I go to bed but it’s often essentially nonexistent when I get up in the morning. Sometimes this is every couple days, sometimes it’s good for up to six days. I think once it may even have lasted for nearly two weeks, but that was unusual.There are no splitters or any other such devices between the modem and the feed from Xfinity. I have Xfinity Comcast cable internet service.  I am provisioned 1000 Mbps download / 20 Mbps Up.When I run speedtest either from Xfinity or speedtest.net, the test says I roughly get around 300MB download give or take. I had Xfinity come out because I didnt think I was getting the 1000 MBPS service.  They tested from the Coaxial cable prior to the cable modem a 1000 MBPS service with their meter equipment.  They tested coming from any of the LAN ports with their meter equipment and it shows getting 1000 MBPS service.  But for some reason when my ethernet cable is plugged into my PC or laptop from any of the cable modem LAN ports, I am getting approx 300 MB.  Xfinity even hooked up their laptop into one of the LAN ports and they also saw an approx 300 MB download speed too.Is the SBG8300 throttling down the internet speed when using the LAN Ports?  When I use the WIFI 2.5 and 5, my speeds are what they should be.  The 5 GHZ is showing around approx 500 MB download speed.  This should n

Hi my modem started flashing at the power source (on the plug-blue light) and at the base in white (Amber). We got a new smart washing machine that shared the same outlet the same day the modem seemed to be dead. The modem used to be on a power strip extension and it was moved to the direct plug.wont reset with the button. is it fried?

I need to change my WiFi password.  The T25 was provided by my A/V contractor (so I wouldn’t have to rent from Xfinity).  The Arris consumer care instructions says to access cable modem interface  and that does not work (you get an error code, I’ve tried from a PC and an iPad). The Xfinity instructions do not work either.  They say their instructions only work with Xfinity provided modems

I am connected with Cox 500MB service.My SB8200 will finally connect to Cox but it seems to take too long.Connection speeds match my service plan but I do have some unexplained drops in connection. The Upstream and Downstream lights are BlueThe Power light is White and the Online light are WhiteNo flashing lights, all solid blue or white.What should I do to get all lights Green? 

I just replaced my xfinity wifi modem with the SBG8300. Contacted xfinity and they did all they could on their end. I ha e wifi but no internet connection. What do I need to do?

I cannot connect.  It tells me Password Incorrect and I am using the correct password.  We have not changed password.  How do I recover or reset a password.  I contacted Optium and my internet is showing okay on their end.

Wifi won't connect because of security level.

I have an SB8200 on xfinity/comcast.  I have had it for 5 years or longer. I was on the 400/12 plan, and on Sunday 15 October I upgraded to the 800/20 plan.  I did it online.  Everything went well, and for about 24 hours all was well.  Then, my download speeds dropped to to 18MBps.  I called xfinity, and they ran their remote diagnostics, and said there was a problem which needed escalated to the ‘speed tier network”, and was told it would take a couple of hours and that they would contact me when finished.  They contacted me about 2 hours later, said it should be fixed, but nothing changed.  They have me scheduled for a tech visit on Thursday.  Nothing else in my network has changed, just the bump in speed.  Would It help to call xfinity and have them reprovision my modem?  How safe is it for them to do so?  I have read stories of people trying to reprovision their modem, but after it is remove from their end, it will not reprovision because it is ‘locked’ to an account.  Here is the

Hi there,My W31 MAX Pro just randomly stopped working today. I have restarted it several times and even reset it to factory settings but it continues to blink red. Our home is wired for internet, and we’ve had it connected in our family room for at least 2 years, where it worked great. I just moved it and connected it directly to our modem and it still won’t connect. Is there anything else I can try?The error code I keep getting is 0000-1303. I have Spectrum internet and the model # of my modem is ET2251. It is DOCSIS 3.1 eMTA.Thanks in advance!
