Wi-Fi Modems

Cannot connect to 192.168.0.1 no matter what device I use.I just performed a factory reset on the router. I can connect to wifi using default SSID and Wifi security key. However not able to change them. Please help me how. the app doesn’t seem to work at all. It doesn’t even recognize that my device is connected to the router via wifi

im looking at the ARRIS Surfboard G34 and i was wonder what providers it supports it name drops a few but im looking to get service from TDS and i was wondering if they are a compatible service provider with this modem / router

Is it possible to use a G34 modem/router to create a mesh network?  I’d like to simply buy a 2nd wifi router, but I’m assuming that if I do that, each router would have to have its own network name, and couldn’t be shared like I understand a mesh network to be.

Have a G36 running our network. I have several concrete block walls that inhibit the signal from reaching my backyard. Can I simply run a giant ethernet cable from my home G36 (Router 1 “R1”) to my outside, air conditioned shed where another G36 (Router 2 “R2”) would reside? Is that the simplest way to expand my outside wifi coverage? R2 would be near a window in the shed that in theory could reach the entirety of my backyard.I’ve asked around and no one seems to have answer for this problem otherwise… TIA

I switch to Bridge mode and all IPv4 disappears from WAN. Why is this happening

I am experiencing unstable internet due lights on my modem went off and  back after a while.

I got this modem router ~60 days ago (of course past my return time) and have recently ran into what seems like bottlenecking/spikes in ping randomly while gaming/streaming.  I originally thought this issue was just my pc but then my devices connected via Wi-Fi also had buffering hiccups This didn’t start until yesterday. Unplugged and replugged everything. Contacted ISP, everything was good on their end. Deleted temp files..etc…etc. only not new part of the hardware is my 30ft cable wire. However, it was working fine with my previous modem router and internet speed. when I test the speed I’m at expected levels. But again, it’s random when it happens and it’s across multiple devices. has anyone ran into this? Any help is welcome

My first week using my G34 was a nightmare.  Here’s a quick summary of everything we dealt with.Ethernet ports would suddenly go dark on the modem and the wired devices would lose connectivity.  Rebooting the modem was the only “fix”.Wi-Fi would constantly disconnect, show as unavailable, or drop connections.  Fix for ethernet ports going dark and disabling all ports?  I changed the ethernet ports on the modem from 1000MB to 100MB.  Why?  My Roku device was using a port that has a limit of 100MB.  Making this change resolved all the issues.For the Wi-Fi issues, the fix was to move the channels to a lesser used one as my neighborhood is saturated with everyone elses signal.These changes are all done in the app or via the web console:  192.168.0.1 from your home network.Hope this info helps!

I use Bitdefender and recently upgraded to an Arris G36 wifi modem.Bitdefender HATES my modem, declaring it unsafe.Any recommendations on making them get along better?

ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 I have to reboot every morning for proper download speed otherwise it's slow. I’m paying for 1 Gbps speed and the modem is receiving 10% until I reboot.  This constant reboot creates havic with my 3 smart TV’s...

Alright, here’s the deal:  I had recent cabline line with 90VAC on the line - yep, shocked at one point, so I checked.  My original modem was squealing, assumed it was dead.  Neighbors had internet.  Modem was an older Cisco DPC3010, so nearly a decade old, but still fast enough for me.  Assuming the dead original modem, not aware of the voltage on the line, I went and bought another modem so I could finish my work projects that were past due.  Plug new modem in instantly squeals at me and all lights solid - no change since then.  This was not the SBG8300 model.  So now two dead modems.  I’m an electrical engineer doing power system and control system designs. I am trying to connect to century link with my arris surfboard SBG6950AC2. Century link provided me with my PPOE username and password, but I can’t find the place to enter the PPOE info when I log into my GUI. Is this modem compatible with century link? Where do I enter the PPOE username and password?

The specs chart on the SBG8300 says it has a pairing button. Where is the button located, and can it be used to connect an extender?

I’ve been talking to my internet provider about how I’m only running two PS4 devices, one LAN wired and one on WiFi. I’ve been trying to reset my connection several times for my 1,000 gig network plan, and I’ve been told they can connect modem, but they can’t connect router within my device. I’ve been told to connect the manufacturer aka ARRIS to help with this situation. HELP please

My family and I are currently trying to reset our modem/router because we wanted to modify some of the settings. We followed the reset instructions per the manual(press reset button, hold for 15s) but attempts to login into the IP redirects the browser to 192.168.0.1/login.asp. I don’t know if this is the correct redirect page. But, the actual content of this page is an SSL certification error. We’ve called ARRIS phone support but they were unable to help our predicament and concluded the system itself was faulty. Would it be possible to have the software reinstalled or something else to fix it?

We have 2 Galaxy A12 phones and 1 Galaxy A71 phone. Every time the A12 phones are disconnected from the WiFi of this router (SBG7400AC) they cannot connect to the Movil Data network. We have to restart the phone in orther to be able to have Mobile data. That only happens with the combination of the SBG7400AC router and A12 phones. No problem with another router and A12. No problem with the SBG7400AC router and A71 phone. Is it related to the configuration of the SBG7400AC router? Have you seen this problem before?

The app confirms that I’m connected and then on the log in page it tells me it couldn’t connect to wi-fi. Any ideas?

I changed the username and password on the arris login page for my DG3450 Router and now it says invalid cred. when i put in my new info 

How do I get the SBC app referred to in the instructions?

I am unable to log into the G36.  The documentation shows “Enter new password”, but the screen does not display the same information that “ANA” brings up.  The login shows EMAIL and PASSWORD, but I have not yet entered an email nor created a password and have never utilized nor have access to the Home Network Wizard

Hello, I’m trying to access a site I host on my local network.I can access it-via DNS on my laptop and phonevia DNS on desktop with Wi-Fivia DNS on desktop on ethernet (with VPN)via IP address on desktopI can’t access it-via DNS on desktop with ethernet with no VPNSo it seems to be a problem with my windows desktop and/or router. At first I thought it was a hairpin routing thing, but since I can access it on my other devices and wi-fi it seemed unlikely.I’ve also checked my network switch, which is a netgear XS708Ev2. There’s something called ‘loop protection’, but again enabling it didn’t seem to solve the issue.It was suggested that it could be something in the router called “rebind protection”. Does the G34 have this feature, and could it be the cause of my problem?

I tried to change name and password on my SBG10 and now am locked out of the router ip how do I get back in?

I have G34 all set and running. Now app won’t connect any more. My iPhone app goes all the way to linking to wifi then can’t communicate. Went through this before and support had me factory reset. Don’t want to do all that work again just to make app work correctly.

When reading the event logs for the Arris Gateway G36 what is the event ID for a system reboot or stop/restart?  I just want to better understand when or how often my gateway is restarted whether if I initiate the restart myself or if my ISP initiated it. 

The power supply to the router died, have only had this router since April 25, 2023. How do I get this replaced?
