SBG10

So I am currently living in an apartment that has community WiFi that is extremely bad. So I’m trying to set up my old router as a bridge in order to hopefully boost up the WiFi. But I am unable to login to change the settings. I’ve tried the default username and password, as well as the security password on my router. I’ve also tried resetting my router but nothing is letting me log into the admission page.

I am locked out of my router modem.  Anyway I can help myself?

Hello. My network says hidden and I can’t figure out how to unhide it. When I go to the Arris login and apply it has a checked box that says broadcast SSID and it is already selected yet still says it’s hidden. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks!

Multiple times while using the internet (1-2 devices connected) the SBG10 restarts interrupting all connections. I have Xfinity and called them, the issue with with the SBG10. Attaching the diagnostics.  Can something be done to stop the restarts? Is there a software upgrade available or do it need to replace it? 

My SBG10 modem will not connect to the internet at all, every light on the modem is all on only the bottom one flashes, I’ve already attempted to unplug then replug but still not connecting, it can connect to my devices it was working just fine until yesterday, I’ve had this modem for a couple months with no issues until now. Very frustrating as I have school work to complete any help would be appreciated thanks!

I bought a new SBG10. It wont accept password provided to start it up. What do I do

My ARRIS SBG 10 won’t connect.I connected the SBG 10 to the cable coming in from Xfinity, connected it to my PC via a network cable and connected the power. The lights blinked and then stayed on. I downloaded the app onto my phone. The phone “connected” to the ARRIS 2611 network, but without internet access. The same was true for the ARRIS-2611-5G network.When I reconnected my old modem and router, my internet worked again.Does Xfinity have to do something for me to be able to use this unit? I was wondering if it is possible for someone to be piggybacking off my internet? I do have it set up on a password, but my internet is starting to run slower, and also buffering a lot. Would this be N router question or not? If it is, is there a way to find out?

I really, really want to change my network name and password. Where do I do this? Specifically.

Is there an answer to a printer (Brother HL-2350DW)  that must be 2.4  and my new Arris SBG 10 router that is dual 2.4 and 5.0 (nota mesh network)?  Take the Arris back and pay rent on the Spectrum?  

I can not connect to the Internet. It says no Internet 

Almost weekly there’s an UNKNOWN device on my router. It is not any of my devices which are only two devices I use on my Wi-Fi. How is someone hacking into my router on a continual basis? I change my password and block their Mac Id but they come back with a different ID after a few days.  I change the admin login password weekly, I wish I could change the login from admin but seems I can’t. I change the Wi-Fi password and was only using the Guest Network. Currently, I’ve connected my streaming device, computer and iPad to Ethernet but would like to still use my Wi-Fi for my security cameras. That’s probably how they’re getting in.  Any ideas to make my SBG more secure? also every time I login there’s a box asking me to register my router, which I had already done and I click to stop asking and it’s still there when I login in the next time. Also when I change my login password, it always given me an error message of some sort but when I go to login the new

My ARRIS SBG10 will not connect on some of my devices like my Nintendo Switch and Cell phones and the devices it does connect on i can not go to some websites like this help site and the playstation store or sometimes amazon. Please help I need all my devices to connect and to be able to go to any website. I have a kid who cant even log into the school website to do homework.

I have a sbg-10 modem. I have tried linking a Wansveiw camera and a Kasa camera with no luck. Went through setup steps with Kasa customer service . We tried everything. Tried UTube no luck . Tried a different phone . Very low traffic where I’m at , very rural  , saw no reason to change channel on modem like Kasa suggested. Anyone have a suggestion Thanks.    Pat

Cannot connect to internet

There is a problem with this app I can log into the network with every device I have, and SURFboard manager! No problems whatsoever I have tried everything factory reset you name it more than once called customer service. That was a joke. I was told SURFboard® central was an old app. Don’t use it. I don’t think that’s the case. There is an issue with logging into my network and it’s not my issue. It’s the apps issue. 

Hi, I was looking into my SBG10 firewall/firmware and I believe it needs an update.  I received a new work laptop and every time I connect my laptop to the wifi the whole wifi/SBG10 just drops (I am on my second new laptop since I thought it was a laptop wifi connection issue).   I was able to access the configuration via the web, but it doesn’t give me an option to update.  I reset the device multiple times already.  The firmware version is 9.1.103AA85.  I logged in the Surfboard App.  I also logged in the Surfboard Connect App, but it was having issues connecting to the network (no issues with the wifi since all my home devices were connected).  I get the error code 0000-1612.  How can I find the most recent firmware version for SBG10? I just called Arris customer support and they advised that the service provider (Xfinity in my case) manages and has control of the firmware versions and updates.  Is this correct?  If so, I’ll have to contact Xfinity.  Thank you in advance.

My modem has all lights solid green but none of my devices have been able to connect to the internet. I've tried power cycling the modem but didn't get anywhere. I've also contacted my ISP and they said that everything was good on their end and there was nothing they could do.

Hey everyone! Like many I’ve tried to trouble shoot online, with no luck. My SBG10 is having some intermittent connectivity issues. When this happens, the SBG10 reboots itself and reconnects and restores service automatically after a few moments. This would be fine but I work from home and it is resulting in a lot of dropped calls. This issue started on 9/11, the same day there was an ISP outage for unplanned service maintenance, which makes me think something on their end got wonky. PC is hardwired in, not on Wifi, though everything that is connected to SBG10 drops service as well. This happens maybe 4-5 times a day. I’ve talked to the ISP twice who say that everything is fine on their end. Checked the coax cables to make sure they are snug, removed the only splitter I had and plugged the modem directly into the coax coming from outside. Same results. Not sure what else I can do here, other than get some second opinions. If it comes down to needing a new modem, that’s fine.

Hello I have a model SGB10 that i purchased approximately four years ago and I am trying to update the firmware. I have had great dificulty tring to log onto the Arris web manager . I read online that the default username/password combo is “admin” and “password” respectively. I tried that and then got a mesage that says “Invalid user name or password, or your access has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts!” I tried using the SSID and key that are on my device’s sticker, but that didn’t work either. If I select “Device Status” then it will bring up the box with info such as # of connected clients, firmare version, etc. Why isn’t there a way to reset passwords via an email link?!? I tried doing a hard reset but that doesn’t seem to have changed the login back to default settings. I have tried using both the original orange Surfboard app as well as the Surfboard Central app and have had made little progess there either. For the orange surfboard

I have had my modem for 2 years. Woke up this morning and the online light is not on. Contacted xfinity and they said there is no outage in my area. I have unplugged and reset and still can’t connect. 

Yesterday afternoon my devices showed no internet connection so I reset my router. This morning they still showed no internet connection but now the router is showing no connection to the network. Each time I try to reset it, the first 2 lights flash like they normally do, but the network light continues to flash but never fully connects and then the device eventually shuts itself off. Every now and then the lights go through a full cycle and the device appears to be fully connected, but none of my electronics are able to access the internet. I’m not sure what to do from here since I can’t even get enough of a connection to run the internet connectivity testing.

I am replacing my SBG10 after many years of faithful service with SBG8300. How do I deactivate the SMG10?

I just received my modem and I am wondering, do I have to use a coaxial cable, the power connection cable that came with it, and an Ethernet cable, or are these three different options of setting it up? I only have the power cord that came with it so does that mean I need to go out and by a coaxial cable? Thanks 

How can I managed the several hard wired devices on my LAN through the SBG10. Preferably this would be done by assigning static LAN IP addresses.
