Wi-Fi Modems

Used an IP address to activate my ARRIS surfboard Wi-Fi cable modem G20 and now my chrome browser will not return...or I should say I don’t know how to back out of the IP situation. It is creating an inability for Wi-Fi calling and Chrome interface is no longer available. I am not a techy by any means, age 78, so excuse me if some of my terms are out of whack! ARRIS did warn me that there would possibly be consequences but I had no choice but to continue...much to my demise

I need to configure an Arris G34 in home network as secondary router. I understand I must set the 1st 3 digits of the IP address to match the default gateway with a unique 4th digit. Also I know I must change the default IPv4 default gateway to match the primary router. I’m having trouble finding these items in the configuration screen. Can someone please help me. Thank you.

Have a g18 modem does not show any of my devices on the app

Hi, we have a G 36 router. Yesterday our network disappeared.  The router is getting a connection from our service provider.  There is a Wi-Fi signal coming from the router, but we are locked out of it.  On the app, it’s saying our network that disappeared is still active along with the password.     we have tried to turn off the router and reset the router, but it locks us out. There’s also a new guest network that wasn’t previous there or set up.  I have tried to set up a chat with the company, but it still says it’s unavailable even though it should be open. Also all the links to the support pages are currently down 

I attempted to set up a USB drive on a Arris Surfboard Modem/Router SBG6950AC2.  I was able to map a drive on my PC to the USB drive on the modem/router.  I was able to navigate to the drive and to several folders I had created on the drive (when it was inserted on my PC).  I am not able to create a folder on the drive.  I am also not able to copy files over to the drive or to the folders on the drive.  It appears to be a permissions issue.  I opened up the access to everyone, but was still unable to create a new folder or copy a file to the drive.I followed the steps outlined in this document:https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/articles/Knowledge/SBG6950AC2-USB-Media-Sh

I have issues with the new G36 dropping connection and followed all of the steps on the questions within this forum. I have Eero setup, as well.  My question at this point before I give up is — what is the purpose, or benefit, of "enable combined SSID across all Wi-Fi bands"??

Is there anyway to manage active ports on a G36? I have many I would like to deactivate.

We have a TM822G router. we bought some cameras that we want to attach via static ip but the router’s dhcp settings is using the entire range and the lan sttings are all greyed-out. I tried resetting the router but the dhcp settings are still un modifiable. How can I change the settings?

I set up and activated  The ARRIS wifi cable modem and router. But the wifi is only  working with the ethernet cord. 

I had purchased my G34 modem five months ago and it died without reason; obviously still well within warranty.  Waited 14 days to get a ‘new’ one ( I was told it would be a new one) only to find out that it is a refurbished one and now it is disconnecting every day at random times without reason and for long enough to interrupt my critical work!  As I was waiting (for far too long) to get this refurbished replacement (that also DOES NOT come up as a S/N that is recognized for warranty assistance now), I hooked up an old modem just to be able to do my job and had ZERO issues with the modem!  Now I cannot get technical support because this refurbished model is not recognized by the system when I enter the information sent in the box!  This is ridiculous- I need a NEW modem to replace the defective original one and now this refurbished one that is not working.  I am seriously upset at this product, and the lack of access to customer support for warranty issues.  Spending $200 for a mod

I just installed a surfboard G 34 modem. We had an existing Netgear nighthawk X6 router and Unifi AP AC lite extenders. The extenders aren’t connecting. I’ve tried rebooting everything unplugging and plugging the extenders back in. Other than factory resetting the extenders. Does anybody have any suggestions? Are the extenders compatible with the new modem? 

How do I identify “unknown” devices on Surfboard? 

I set up our Wifi Guest account using the Surfboard app.  All details look correct on the app, but the name of the Wifi guest account does not appear in the list of available networks.   I’ve tried several times to connect devices to the guest Wifi for a few weeks, but the guest network name never appears.  What can I do?

I found my IP address and made my way to the login page for arris routers. I used admin and password as my wife didnt think she changed them when she first set it up. It said the login credentials were wrong. I searched how to reset those credentials. I found information that recommended that I reset the router. I tried that and went to the login page. It showed that my router was updating but the login info was still incorrect (admin and password). Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or where I can go from here? Goal: check for updates, remove old devices, double check security settings etc.

will a power cord from an Arris TM 822G power an ArrisG36?l

I am unable to connect my printer to the wifi network.   I just installed a G18 Surfboard and my printer is a Canon Pixma MG6821.   The network shows up and is functioning on my computer.   But when I try to connect the printer, it doesn’t ask for the password and then fails to connect.   When I try to connect to other networks, it asks for a password.   Any idea of how to fix this?

I have an ARRIS SBG8300. I have an issue where the Ethernet and WiFi both lose internet connection or is slows down to around 2 mbps download speed. The problem is intermittent and started a few months ago. I have had Spectrum out 3 times now and they claim nothing is wrong with my service. I tried swapping out modems and it didn't fix the issue. Today, my I ternet went out but none of my neighbors lost connection. I noticed that the Wifi light was completely out and the internet light was solid green. I had no internet on Ethernet or WiFi though. Does anyone know what the light combination means or have any ideas on how to fix my issue? 

I just got a new G18 Surfboard Wifi Modem but I am only getting 20 Mbs on speed tests when I am paying Optimum for 300 mbs.    I have called their tech support and they are getting normal speeds on their end.   They recommended I contact Arris support to optimize the modem settings.In addition to slow speeds, I am frequently needing to restart the modem because it stops providing internet.   The light will still be solid blue but nothing connects on Wifi or Ethernet.I am looking for solutions.

My G36 WiFi speed is now half the speed as it was before. It is now 212Mas inbps and .07 Mbps upload. It was 408.51Mbps download and 90.42Mbps upload.  Why has it changed so drastically? I have also noticed that this device would go offline on Saturday and would require a reboot as well as having to reboot often due to Wifi connectivity issues on both bands 5,4 and 2.4. Also, why do I have to go through a “community to get support and where do I get real support from this company? I am not seeing all the hype with this modem/brand.

I am attempting to access the "Operation" section of my Arris Surfboard SBG6950AC2.   When I select the option and put in my credentials used in the “Configuration” I get a message that says:Invalid user name or password, or your access has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts!”How do I clear this issue?

I have a new Surboard G34 and am having to reboot the router 5 times a day or more. I constantly am getting a no internet warning. I am on Sparklight 1gb plane and the issue happens on both bands. When I contact Sparklight they send me through the re-boot hell and when the signal returns, all is well on their end and 20mims later, it drops again. All my devices retain WiFi connection, just not internet. I’m a complete network neophyte so please keep any suggestions grounded in English. LOL

Hello. Cablevision Optimum is directing me to you. I am hoping I don’t need a new modem since I recently bought an Arris Surfbiard. Today I requested that Optimum increase my Internet speed to 300 MBPS, which they did and will start charging me for it. But the speed test does not show 300 Mbps for the download which it should, according to Optimum. They said my speed is fine on their end and directed me to the modem manufacturer. When I went on your website, I don’t see the product number of the modem that I bought. I’m trying to determine if I have to get a new modem or not. This is the p/n: SBG00DAY20RT. is this compatible? According to the optimum site I can use a DOCSIS certified DOCSIS 3.1 modem for all speeds.thank you for any guidance
